XPW got its own episode later on. They went into detail about the match between Vic Grimes and New Jack. Rob Black (The Promoter of XPW) was going to do a coin flip to determine who was gonna go down the scaffolding. New Jack told him as quoted “You can flip coins all you want, but Vic is going off that Scaffolding.” And what makes this more interesting about XPW is how they got the insurance to do this. They way they did this was print out old insurance forms and add some white out to make them appear as official documents.

Never forget this. I was a longtime wrestling fan. Never watched ECW. Heard about it. Saw it on late night TV but never really paid attention. Got a free ticket to a show at Zuma Beach in downtown Orlando. What I experienced was terror. When New Jack came out (and I knew nothing about him) the level of anger and violence he showed transferred to the audience. It was jam packed. No room to move. Standing room only. It felt like the Jan 6 riots at the Capitol. Would never want to experience that again. A bunch of crazed and enraged people. it's like the worst people in a 100 mile radius just showed up, got insanely drunk and were suspiciously aroused by the anger and violence. it was nuts

Yeah there's always something dirty feeling about ECW in the same manner of low quality pornography with an innocent girl you know just wants the money. There's something perverse about the violence and the kind of people who enjoy it. It's like a fetish environment where Nicolas Cage was looking for snuff films in 8MM. Spiritually it makes sense for the audience to be neurotic as the talent.

I'm not sure what happened at this event, or what you experienced. but ecw and new jack(even with his flaws) will always have a special spot in my heart. the promotion may have a been lightning in a bottle thing that didn't even last a half a decade, but will be fondly remembered for a long time for those that experienced it firsthand, and loved it. to compare the fans to violent rioters is a little silly ...yes it was an older, mostly male cult like following, but i've been to plenty of shows, and it was like a family reunion, where we all felt part of something special. I never experienced this "terror" you speak of. i feel more terror at larger events than i did at smaller ecw events. Larger events tend to have brawls, or worse nowadays. i think you just felt like an outsider because you weren't familiar with the product. The events I went to were rowdy smart marks, but not violent themselves, with everyone laughing together coming up with chants trying to outdue each other, and just all in all enjoying a show together.

New Jack suffered too much pain in his final days due to the EXTREME lengths he went throughout his career but one notable botch that happened with Vic Grimes which was mostly if not entirely the latter's fault. Dude was a felon & in his 30's when he first started wrestling. ECW was where he found his niche in hardcore wrestling. yeah this is weird, new jack pulled vic over with him and made him land on his head, so for “revenge” stuns his body and throws him off a 20 foot drop where he can’t defend himself

I remember a match where jack deeply bladed a 17 y/o kid's forehead, severing his 2 arteries, the kid nearly died yet jack continued using abusive slurs and even stepped on him. I guess new Jack's forehead scare was just karma😹😹

Nothing great about wwe Hogan had no wrestling ability or skills. Steroids took him to the big time. he was the fakest "star" In the business. In real life he couldn't beat any average size wrestler unless they let him
