Match fixing is unfortunately part of sports. FIFA recently had a major scandal on it. Don’t forget about the Black Sox scandal. And no matter what teams will tell you, we know that a lot of them try to tank. It’s as simple as that.
Match fixing will probably never go away. We just have to accept that. Now, the NFL has had its fair share of officiating controversies, but one particular event stands out from the rest. That would be Super Bowl 40, played between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Seattle Seahawks in Detroit.
While many of us try to remember it as Jerome Bettis’ perfect send-off as a champion in his hometown, it’s too hard to forget that the game had so many officiating mistakes to the point where people, to this day, believe the fix was in.
Today we present The Most FIXED Superbowl of All Time.
and don't forget to leave your video ideas down in the comments below, we’re looking and we’ll give you a shout out in the video if we use it.

THAT was a "pay back" for Elway being ROBBED of 3 SB's as punishment for him REFUSING to PLAY for the Baltimore Colts, the team that DRAFTED him #1 in the entire draft. Don't forget, the climate of the entire season was a media love affair send off for Jerome Bettis, his last season. I recall that it seemed as though every show leading up to the game was the media fawning over Bettis. As a Hawks fan, at our first ever SB, I felt a sinking feeling days before the game as the media's focus was only on Pitt and Bettis and were dismissive of Seattle and seemed to be already awarding another SB to the Steelers before the game was ever played. If this game wasn't outright fixed, it was certainly "influenced" in the minds of the refs and the ridiculous calls showed that bias.

Yes, the Steelers get help from NFL refs because it helps the NFL's brand. They are a popular team. But the Cowboys and Patriots get help too. Any high ratings team that is also widely hated gets the NFL bump occasionally. I wonder if its mandatory for NFL refs to have kids; when you have a family to worry about, its easier for the NFL to bribe (or scare?) potential snitches. Never forget ... there are only three American sports that are legally classified as Sports Entertainment in America: Pro Wrestling, Roller Derby ... and NFL football. So legally the NFL is covered.

Even if the OPI is still called, the Seahawks had time & were in position to stage a comeback during the later two penalties that we agree, were bad calls. I think that if those later two were made correctly the argument for the Seahawks winning that game is just as compelling as the one for the Steelers winning. Robbery.

@@thurston5173 - It was OPI. Pushed off the player, created separation, and prevented the defensive player from following. That's offensive PI in any year. You sometimes would see a player get away with more running or a push down the field, where both players continue in the same direction, but this is a play where the momentum of the movement was completely flipped, so it was more obvious. What was most obvious was that he did it, literally, right in front of the stationary official, who had nothing else to do but look at him and see it.

Super-bowel 55 was rigged! For the entire first half the referees throw flags that kept giving the Bucks first downs, which led the Bucs to score so many points in the first half. The referees also ignored the pass-interference that the Bucks committed on the Chiefs in the first half. Then there was a 15 yard penalty called for a Chiefs falling down accidentally and barley bumping a Buck's leg-this was enforced in the 2nd half against the Chiefs as a 15 year penalty. Plus with less than a minute left in the second quarter the Chiefs head coach Andy Reid called two time outs while the Bucks whom had the ball where out of time outs, why? Why would Andy Reid give Brady more time to push the ball up the field and score? Which is exactly what happened. Even I know that with time running out, you don't call time out and help your opponent score another touchdown-this was an incredibly stupid move by the Chiefs, but it was scripted that way. Also notice how in the second half the referees no longer where calling pass interference on the Chief's cornerbacks, since the damage to the Chiefs had already been done in the first half. All of a sudden the Chief's fix that problem that was killing them in the first half? Why didn’t they fix that problem in the first quarter? Why where they playing like amateurs? The Chiefs did not play like the Chiefs, as they never even scored a touchdown, with a series of dropped catches that Chief's receivers usually make, the receivers failed to be effective! Where was the Chief's offense? Where was the speed, the skill, the touch-downs that the Chiefs usually score? Where was the fire? All of a sudden they get to the most important game of the year and they can't even play football, yea right! This whole thing was rigged!

As I rabid Seahawks fan I was livid at the lead-up to the game, with the Steelers getting so much of the pre-game press hype, you really had to look hard to even know who the Steelers opponent was. There was literally nothing being said about the Seahawks. Here's something I've never heard anyway else mention but I knew something was very fishy when all during the first half of the game, when coming back from commercials, the network displayed beautiful black & white photographs of the most famous players. The only problem? Every single photograph was of a Pittsburg Steeler. I couldn't believe it, I was pulling my hair out, screaming foul! Then after half time when they were about to start the second half they again showed another beautiful Black & White photo and AGAIN it was of a Steeler. Finally, after the next commercial break they finally showed a photo of Matt Hasselbeck. Five photos of Steelers to one of a Seahawk. Now, even with all this, I don't believe the game was "fixed." I just believe there was so much hype for the Steelers the Refs were swayed by the pro-Steeler fever and made every possible call to make Pittsburg, and Jerome Bettis, and Dave Cower's dream come true. And, during the infamous goal line stand, where the line judge called Big Ben's QB sneak a TD, the line judge didn't call it a TD until he ran in to see where the ball was, and of course Ben had moved the ball forward. Also, the great Jerome Bettis was stuffed by the Seahawks defense on 1st and 2nd down during that series, so Bettis, for all the hype, didn't to squat to help his team win that game. But that ridiculous holding call on Sean Locklear and the illegal block called against Hasselbeck near the end of the game when Hasselbeck was tackling the Steeler running with the ball, it's just mind boggling. Were the refs paid off to fix the game, I don't think so, they just called it like a bunch of sissies. If they had called it for the Hawks they wouldn't have gotten out of that stadium alive. To this day I am still furious about the bad calls in that game and I remember the headline, top of the fold in The Seattle Times four years later from the lead Umpire, "We really blew that one!" What more needs to be said, the Seahawks won that game.

I know a lot of people don’t want to hear this, but the NFL went to court, and legally said themselves the NFL is not a sport. It is in fact an entertainment business. On par legally with the WWE. The difference of registering as a sport opposed to an entertainment business legally is you have the right to force outcomes or dictate winners prematurely. NCAA football is classified as a legal sport while the NFL is legally classified as an entertainment business? Why would that be? The NFL reserves the right to govern themselves as an independent entity. They are required to have rules set in place that promote fair play and honest competition. However them governing themselves means they are in charge of their own checks and balances. So if the fair play and honest competition aren’t being met no one can do anything about it except the NFL themselves. (That’s like if a judge was the judge of their own case) This also protects the league from gambling or bets because you are essentially betting the undertaker will beat stone cold Steve Austin next time you bet on the jets pats game lol these aren’t conspiracies these are legal documents. A lot of peoples thoughts on this are mainly denial as they don’t want to believe they are being manipulated. However a jets fan took them to court and found out the hard way Santa clause isn’t real. The judge found even though there was evidence of consumer fraud due to spygate it is believed that people would still attend Patriots game if they knew it was scripted. The ticket only provides you access to a show case dismissed.

7:07 What i found strange about the "block below the waste" was that is was called on the team that didn't have the ball. Why would a defender try to block? But wait it gets better at 7:36! Look at ben Roethlisberger making a block the same way that Hasselbeck made the "TACKLE below the waste"

@@kingdonkilluminati7631 It was nowhere near “rigged” the chiefs were holding all season and it was finally getting called. The reason they lost is because mahomes was the only one that went out there and tried. His O-line left him running for his life. It’s not because it was rigged it was because he was the only one to go out there and play.

A game often includes a blown call here or there. But because of all the accumulated blown/close calls going only one way, for me means it wasn't really a game. That is why the official is haunted - they took the contest out of the game. Whether it was intentional or through incompetence, the end result was the same. I recall that empty feeling afterward. I just felt like I did not really see a real game. But on the plus side, at least Bettis got his ring - and BTW, I'm a Hawks fan.

Most blatant attempt to fix a Superbowl was Ravens vs 49er's. Turning the lights off to ice the Ravens which worked. Stating that the lights would take almost an hour to fully heat up. While these days they'll flicker the lights after a score at some stadiums with no down time. They count on most having the memory of an idiot. And they're correct.

@@GamePro0012 The only clearly bad call was the Hasselbeck low block. Jackson's OPI was as blatant as it gets. Full arm extension to push a defender backwards followed by breaking in the opposite direction. Plus doing it right in front of the official? No doubt OPI. Locklear was legal initially but started holding as Haggans got by him. Locklear hooked Haggans's right shoulder. The potential horse-collar may have been missed, but it may have been a jersey grab, which was legal at the time.

Easy to fix - learn from the NRL Turn it to “conference of origin “ You can only be picked by the conference you were drafted . That puts pride into your conference . Eg - drafted by the dolphins - you can only ever be picked by the AFC in the pro bowl for career. Current team is irrelevant . The interest / passion and crowds will return . The old AFC / NFC dominance will bring interest back . Including the players Aus Pro Rugby league were struggling with the rep games - no one cared . Until “State of origin “ was implemented (you are picked for the state you first played senior league ). Now - state of origin is massive Watch a state of origin game nsw v qld rugby league - full on brutal football - no pads / helmets - non stop - brutal hits .

A case can be made for the refs winning all 6 Stealers SB games. From the blatantly obvious in the 70's , to the Bus' last game. Things like the ref Stepping between the Rams defender and Harris ( old " triple F Harris " Fat F*n Franco ) deliberately so he could got the last 50 yards on his touchdown run without incident. Or Ben's invisible sneak. And my personal " favourite " , the famous " toetap " on the last play of the SB against the Cardinals. Look at the replay. The Pittsburgh WR has 1 foot in, and the other foot ON TOP OF his other foot. It NEVER touched the turf. And like the Immaculate Deception, the NFL will go back and doctor or destroy every piece of existing footage to support the ref's alternate reality. The thing they can't do, is since 1972 we've had DVD's, VCR's and Blu Rays. And you can't go to everyone's home and wipe the recorders of millions of people. On and on. Since 1972, the NFL's film rooms have been choked by the sheer volume of blown calls and outright gifts from the refs to the Stealers with no sign of letup in sight.
