As hilarious as this game is, I think its really charming and has funny little details. Nice gameplay with the different players having different handling, the ball animations being satisfying... and quirky things like being able to run into the ref, and performing a backboard-breaking dunk (and then the backboard being all cracked and glued together afterwards) just feels ahead of its time for an NES game. And being able to go for the full-court "threep" is just hilarious.

Those full court shots remind me of playing NBA Jam with the full court dunk cheat on. If the opposing team ever scored, you'd just jump 120 feet back to your basket.

It was an Arcade game before it was a NES game. Yes, and it was by the same people who made NBA Jam, Midway. And yes, that was a 3 point dunk, a bug in the NES version.

Yeah, it just pisses me off even more that nothing like this exists in modern video games. The obsession with realism in sports games needs alternatives like this. But the AAA devs only care about games as a service now 😔

I used to play AND1 basket java game on my Nokia 6020, it had that french guy Jean Paul's song "temperature" as a midi version on the intro of the game. Well, the thing is I am just discovering what goal tending means, I have never known what the hell that meant 🤣 I just... went with it, idk how I enjoyed playing it knowing nothing about basketball lol

I get to finally be the guy in the comments that has childhood memories of playing this game all the time! My and my brother had this as one of our 3-4 games we had at my grandparents house on the lake, and we were 1 1/4 apart in age, and would slap each other in the game all the time. Was a laugh riot all the time, until someone would inevitably stop shooting all together and only punch XD

The wave of nostalgia hit me like a truck. I remember playing this game as a kid with one of my best friends. Seeing the sprites and the after point animations sent me back, but the shattered glass made me feel like I was 8 again! Thanks for playing this!

Seeing that advertisement for British Knights… I totally forgot about those shoes. I remember having a pair in the 80s. MC Hammer and LL Cool J were sponsored by them.

Man, now that their in the same room together again, I’m getting Old School GG vibes with them picking a random NES game and just having fun. Don’t get me wrong, their longer play through are fun, but to me it’s better when they are spaced out.

It reminds me of when they used to have two uploads a day. Granted that was when all their episodes were only 10 minutes. I like the longer videos much more, especially these old school gems.

@@Norweeg Oh yeah, the longer videos are way better than before. But I feel like they should have a long play through and then a few weeks(maybe even a month) of just whatever they want. They seem to genuinely be having a lot fun on these random games and it shows.

I'm so glad they got to play this...I knew they'd enjoy it. :) This game is on "fun levels" with *Ice Hockey & Tecmo Bowl.* I'm surprised they never played it as kids, or got to playing it on the show sooner, but hearing them laugh while playing, makes up for it.
