Honestly South Pacific is one of my favorite seasons because of how crazy villainous the Family got. Ozzy nearly pulls off a Mike Holloway-esque challenge run to beat them, then Sophie destroys them from the inside, keeping all the receipts and burying Coach at FTC with them. It's like a spy thriller.

The "Family" Alliance in South Pacific really does leave a bad taste in my mouth. And I'm not even religious. Seeing how Brandon was manipulated when he wanted to be accepted, to do the right thing by his family, how the ONLY family member that came to the Reunion was Russell (who humiliated him on TV), knowing he was only 19, and knowing what it led to in Survivor 26 just feels...wrong.
@yellercat500cat77 ай бұрын
As much as I like Coach as a character, his South Pacific run did indeed leave a very bad taste in my mouth. As someone who does hold a strong faith that revolves around prayer, that was absolutely disgusting on so many levels. As for Brandon, this is making a lot more sense that first appears. Like his actions are still quite bad, especially when Cochran also dealt with similar manipulation problems that season and seems mentally good, but why does this make a whole lot more sense than it did when this incident originally happened.

@yellercat500cat7 If the idea of religion being used to mentally and emotionally manipulate others makes you feel uncomfortable, my answer to that is always the same. Good! It SHOULD make you uncomfortable. And if you are sitting there saying, "Well that's not what my faith is based on," or "that's not accurate to what real Christians are like," than you are being willfully ignorant of the very bleak reality that is the dangers religion brings to society. Violent acts are committed under the guise of "God's will." Every. Single. Day. People who only behave in a certain manner because they think it rewards them in heaven are some of the fakest and most delusional people on the planet.

South Pacific's cult was honestly one of my favorite alliances once I rewatched the season. It was amazing to see Coach finally become a proper Villain and use his social strategy to build a cult that lasted to the end only to fail to own it and lose the game. The cultish aspect of the alliance with the use of religion really explored the "build their own society" aspect of the show, and we see firsthand how just as in real life, religion can be used to manipulate and control others.

Kieth and Witney constantly made him feel bad and treated him like a loser just because he wanted a place to sleep in the shelter at night. There's a whole offscreen incident where Ozzy forced Cocran help him kill a chicken, which he was extremely uncomfortable with (pretty normal if you've never done it before) and when the chickens blood splattered all over him and he was naturally upset, Ozzy LAUGHED at his expense. And Caramoan can't be understated that cast was terrible. Most of the favorites weren't actually favorites, but just disasters waiting to happen (being honest here, Brandon Hantz should NEVER have been on that season) and the "fanc weren't actually fans. This has been Cochran's dream for years to play this game, and he's put on a season with a bunch of recruits who don't even give a sh*t about the game!

@@roger_towny_jr Never heard of the chicken incident before or them bullying him over sleeping in the shelter. Cochran made a lot of jokes about how he shouldn’t be considered the weakest player on the tribe when there’s a bunch of women still on the tribe - I remember them because they immediately took me from sympathizing with the guy on SoPa to actively rooting against him and disliking him. It’s worth noting that a decent chunk of the tribe Cochran flipped to dislikes him too - particularly Sophie who was easily one of the most level-headed and reasonable players on that season by a long shot. It can be a case where Cochran is kind of an asshole and his tribe were kind of assholes (which appears to be the case). The Caramoan cast sucking was done to ensure Cochran could get an EZ-freebie win… lol. He legitimately has no excuse to judge. If he gets a competent cast filled with actual fans and actual favorites, he doesn’t win.

The cult of Rob I feel can have some fun in viewing. You have a bunch of young people having a good time while their leader wins tons of immunities and controls the vote in such dominance it makes a boring season entertaining, at least in the early and late game episodes. The cult of Coach is just despicable manipulation that isn't even owned up to by the people responsible. I'll admit I have bias because I have faith myself, but you're just watching a man claim he's a good person screw with the head of an already struggling 19-year old.

As much as I hate the family from South Pacific, the Axis of Evil above them for me, but still 1 and 2 in my opinion. Say what you will about the family, but I still found Coach entertaining, and even if WAW helped make Sophie a much more beloved winner, I still liked her here and think her win was a solid one! Brandon sucks hard and Coach’s behaviors were indeed pretty messed up at times, but I think he came out looking better than Rodney, Dan or Will on Worlds Apart. Those three torpedoed that season hard. Even as someone who likes Carolyn and Tyler, they couldn’t add enough to make up for those deficiencies, and the less said about Joe and Sierra the better 😬 Mike Jenn and Shirin are still the bright spots of that season though, no question, and that I can still appreciate!

The current Reba alliance this season I cannot stand to watch. Mostly because the rest of the tribe sees how strong Reba is and they continue to vote everyone out except Reba. Multiple players have had the chance to flip the script on Reba and instead they take the easy way out only to be voted out themselves.... By Reba

Man I’m starting to feel this way about survivor 46’ so called 6 person alliance. Not because they’re annoying(Q is) but because it’s led to bad luck over and over again. They’re voting out members of their own alliance over and over again.

I really didn't like the religious cult alliance but when the other alliance is reminiscent of when the nerd at lunchtime tried to sit with the preppy high school kids, it makes Upolu somewhat more tolerable.

Hating the Reba 4 of this season right now because they are just dominating the whole thing

I feel like the Reba 4 gets some hate in season 45, but I don’t understand it. They are playing the game really well by sticking together. I think the edit isn’t giving them their flowers. It’s clear in the exit interviews by other contestants that the Reba 4 hid their alliance, which is probably why the Belo’s had such a hard time banding together.
@kaitlynwickham62377 ай бұрын
I think viewers are bored of the Rebas just kind of steamrolling everyone. They've been playing the post-merge very well, but the lack of opposition could make the show a bit dull for some people.
@bruja25917 ай бұрын
@@kaitlynwickham6237 that’s true. I’ve been frustrated by the Belo’s but that’s not Reba’s fault. Again I just think the edit could have given them a more well rounded edit that showed their social/strategic game in hiding their alliance
@zoharshaked7267 ай бұрын
Sometimes pagongings happen and honestly this is a case when it is completely deserved. Reba are a great alliance with great gameplayers and while the conclusion may be boring, I mean who were they up against? Belo? I liked Bruce but he's genuinely one of the worst players to have ever made the merge, and while he was awful, Katurah and Kendra refusing to work with him or at least around him isn't a good choice either. Jake's the only one who actually was smart enough as funny as it sounds but gameplay wise Belo just couldn't connect. Lulu isn't even worth a discussion bc 2 thirds of them were already out, and Kaleb was so high target wise that he was a dead fish especially when Reba actually played smart. Emily is great and really the only non Reba player that has any chance imo unless Katurah manages to reach F3.
@getthisbread38777 ай бұрын
the reba 4 are definitely good, but I do question whether they're playing extremely well or if belo is just playing extremely poorly that it makes reba look amazing. in the last episode, them splitting the vote was a bad idea and should've got one of them voted out but belo dropped the ball on that one.
@zoharshaked7267 ай бұрын
@@getthisbread3877 you're saying this as if it's contradictory. They split the votes because they knew Belo could never work together. Reba are genuinely skilled, not lucky. If Belo were tight, Reba would probably not think about splitting so easily. Belo are messy and also Reba are tight at the same time, which lead to the result you're seeing here today.
