I'm honestly shocked I hadn't already posted this exercise. I think this is the number one thing you can practice as a beginner to quickly progress. In one simple exercise we're practice pick blocking, bar hand control, and ingraining major chord finger groups into our brain. Memorize this exercise and spend 10 minutes with it every time you sit down at your guitar. This exercise will be a prerequisite for a couple lessons coming up later this year.
