In this video, I discuss optimizing arm structure in golf swings, focusing on the external rotation of the trail arm and shoulder. I address common issues from internal rotation, offering exercises and drills for improved awareness and control. I demonstrate techniques to maintain proper arm alignment and movement, highlighting the balance between internal and external rotation for an effective swing.

I've been waiting for this lesson. Wonderful explanation as my flying trail elbow was driving me insane. I now know exactly where it needs to be. Brilliant lesson. Massive thanks T.

Awesome video Trevor, I have been watching 9:11 your vids for couple months now, nothing has helped me transform as much as you have. The only problem now is I have to recalibrate my bag. My 7 iron has gone from a 22 degree launch angle, high right push fade to a 16 degree draw. I don’t feel like I hitting the ball 2 grooves too thin now. I’ve easily gained 1.5 clubs in distance. It’s nice to aim down the right side of the fairway and hammer a driver without worrying about hitting 50 yards right because of early extension. Thank you again!!!

Have had a “flying elbow” for years and is taking lots of time to fix it. 9min mark of the video you mention that “at first we might only get the club back up to here” ( which is not a full rotation). How do you full rotate? Does it come with time ? Do you turn your core more ? Thanks so much for this video can’t wait to start practicing this 😊

So in order for you to finish the turn, there’s obviously there’s going to be a retraction of the trail shoulder extension of the spine and I think a good way of feeling it would be extending the trail leg as well so this is just more so showing you how the arm structure works inside of this video.

This is a great lesson! The shoulder stretches are especially worthwhile. I will try them. As a retired chiropractor I'm especially appreciative of the knowledge of functional anatomy that you utilize in all of your videos. Thank you!

Yes indeed it is the most important structure in my motion, but it is equally the most difficult to learn for me to incorporate. This drill is outstanding especially in the unobstructed transferability of feel from drill to actual. You are a genuine realist golf genius indicated by INTEGRATING the micro skills to the macro swing; measuring, observing, feeling, and full swing journey thoroughly in every drill every time. I have not done it yet but I am so happy you gave me a golden key, thank you. Keep them coming.

Where did you get the hat you wear in this video? Something between a bucket and a pith helmet--great for the sun! It's not a Red Vanly product; I checked their web site.

The hats I have been wearing since I had skin cancer are from Kangol! Super comfortable and stylish in my opinion. This is Ian the saying this as sponsor type either. I actually bought these and really do like them! Highly recommend!

Love this. Really good video. Arm structure is key. How does this relate to (excessive) ulnar deviation ? Which apparently I suffer from too much. With having better arm structure, will this help with having excessive ulnar deviation ? ⛳️

I can’t say that it’ll solve it. Would need to see your motion honestly. I’ll add a vid like that to my list of things to shoot going forward! Thanks for the comment and feedback!

My son has his elbow flare apart at the top but he has his hands by the balls of his feet, real ahead of the angle and the shaft is tilted forward instead of straight up, but he hit his irons incredibly far, for example, A wedge 150 yards, pitching wedge at 160-170. But he is very inconsistent with his directions. Please let me know if I can send you his swing and if you can kindly comment on his swing. Thank you.

Would you do exactly the same with a longer club or driver?
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 7 ай бұрын
For the most part yes. There will be different alignments with the spine (more tilt at address for most), a wider base and this will be working on a different swing plane due to the length of the golf club. Let me know if you have any questions on this! TS

I struggled with getting my trail arm in the right position my whole career. As I’ve moved into a more shallow approach, I’ve also had to learn to use my lead wrist differently by adding flexion. If you don’t add flexion and you approach 10 or 20° shallower You’ll hit 40 yard blocks to the right
@tsgolf
@tsgolf 8 ай бұрын
Even more than flexion, pronation or the lead forearm and supination of the trail forearm will do that. Thanks for the comment!
@christianmauer
@christianmauer 8 ай бұрын
@@tsgolf I am confused. Are you saying lead forearm pronation on the downswing help square the clubface. Pronation means turning the lead thumb to the right for a right handed player. Seems like lead forearm supination would be more appropriate. I am thinkng of P4 to P6. Could you clarify?
@michaelkrailo5725
@michaelkrailo5725 8 ай бұрын
@@christianmauer I'm pretty sure he means exactly what he said. Supinating that lead forearm would push the club shaft/head out towards the target line into what we all know is a bad position.

Gear as in clubs? I play Titleist everything (MB irons, TSr Woods and Vokey wedges). This video I was using a Srixon iron that I mess around with. Clothing is REDVANLY! That stuff is truly the best and most comfortable on the planet!

@tsgolf Thank you! Very much appreciate all your instruction videos. I have the T100S irons may check out the MBs, working on trail side forearm and wrist move angle on downswing, too much out and not enough down and I get the pulls or pull hook. Thanks again, you are the best!
