I've gotten to carrying a get home bag 24/7 in my truck. Lately I have also been loading a fold up bicycle for going to work as my job is about the farthest I travel on a daily basis. I figure if something bad happens and the truck can't run, I would use the bike to travel the 20 miles to get home quicker. 👍

I know BOB is what everyone uses to describe the bag, but I like Get Home Bag much better. Not like I'm going to live the rest of my life with the contents of the bag. Just give me some survivability until I get to some place of safety, home, wherever.

I agree with you. There are Prep channels that seemingly love to give you all the Doom and Gloom clickbait titles. I only go now to the positive, solutions filled channels.

Agree. There are too many channels focused on what is going on overseas instead of practical advice. Also, too many opinions on politics and religion. This channel sticks to the basics with useful information.

Using a backpack as a shield is underrated. I can honestly say I've used it multiple times as a shield mainly against dogs but sometimes against crackheads if I'm walking. Also I'd suggest putting in a plastic cutting board in your backpack if you don't have body armor. It will help against dogs and knives should the occasion arise.

One thing that I’ve found to be worth it’s weight in gold is the mill bank bag. I have a 50ft hank of paracord tied to it so I can wet the bag to give it weight and be able to lower it to hard to get water sources or to throw it and collect water when the shore is to muddy to stand next to the water. Once the water is collected you hang it from a limb and let it set for about 30 sec. To a minute and all the sediment will fall to the bottom and your water has now just been pretreated and it will extend the life of your filter tremendously. And keep you from exposing your self to enemies or danger trying to get water. Or you can soak the bag for five mins and then let it drip into a cup and boil it once your grayl gives out. You should have a metal cup with your setup. You want to have redundancies when it comes to water. Love the bag, take care.

Your timing is perfect! I’m currently updating my EDC kits. I have a backpack for work, a mini backpack for grocery shopping, and a purse for fancier occasions. They all contain pretty much the same items. It’s easier than transferring everything from one bag to another like I used to! 😂

Klean Kanteen 27oz wide mouth works great. Slim and holds more than the plastic bottles with the benefits of a steel container. I run that in my ready pack 2.0. Great video, subbed!

This video echos exactly what I’ve been saying for over a year. A quasi-edc get home bag should be most preppers first “bag.” I take mine almost everywhere. Of course, when I have more money, space and time I might build out a more proper full on BoB, the backpack every American should start with is right here.

I include small tube of Bayer A&D ointment. It's a game changer if you get chaffing walking a long distance. It's a little thicker than the antibiotic ointment.

great video! About the steel water bottle....Klean Kanteen makes a 27oz stainless, non-insulted water bottle that will fit in those pockets. I have a Vertx Gamut 2.0 and had water bottle issues also. Those Klean Kanteen bottles worked great! Keep up the great work!

For getting home with distance being 8 miles you are looking at 3 hours walking on level ground. I think you are over packed for that scenario. Then in one spot you had a child with you and snacks for them. Rethink this scenario for family and do video with more kits for different members of family added. Thank you for sharing your kit.

The most important survival decision a person can make is repenting of their sinful ways, turning from those ways and putting their faith in Jesus Christ. This is not opinion, the evidence points to Jesus Christ as being a reliable source of faith. More reliable than anyone or anything you've ever known. Please, consider Jesus Christ. He will change your life. You don't clean yourself up to take a shower. Get right with Christ NOW! God bless all of you. Praying for you all
