Hi Tucker. While I love Aputure, the reality is that they aren't even considered a premier lighting brand. They're very popular, yes. They've made incredible lights for very affordable prices. But they don't in any way exhibit the best in lighting technology. You get what you pay for in this area. I would say that the brands who produce better colour rendering and light quality over Aputure are Arri, KinoFlo, Rosco DMG, Astera, Lite Panels, Rotolite, & Mole Richardson - though I'm probably forgetting one or two there. I think the side-by-side that appears in the video represents a pretty good example. With the Aputure MC, the skin tone looks washed out and lifeless. The DASH makes it look much more realistic - almost as if the camera applied a different gamma curve. You can see more colour gradation, richness in the skin tones, and more detail. Hope this helps!

Hi TLT, while anything is possible, I wouldn't count on it. They are available for pre-order, so the price is the price. That said, I think $340 is remarkably good considering what you're getting. I think they make a great rental unit too - as you could likely pay off the light with under 10 daily rentals and it would be in as good condition as the day you bought it. I can't say the same for pretty much any other RGB pocket light.
