Regarding Shankland, as an Aberdeen supporter I don't like power being entirely situated within the Old firm castle walls, so normally I'd want him to stay at Hearts, even if that's not in Aberdeen's immediate interest. But as a Scotland supporter, I really just want what is best for us going to Germany. And a solid, in form, goal scoring true number 9 is the missing piece that we have needed. If he went to Rangers, it might be better for the national team. Hearts could drop out of form, even with Shankland there, if that happened he'd get less service and just have less meaningful SPFL games at the close of the season. I've got to think a title race, some big Old Firm matches and a few big European nights, might be the magic medicine to prepare him for the bigger stage in the summer. If he was going into the tournament in hot form, at a higher level, with McTominay, McGinn, Robertson and Teirney supplying him, he might be a pretty dangerous entity lurking around the Swiss or Hungarian box!

Shankland is a real good player as Celtic fan hope he stays at club great player scorer. They call Edinburgh Derby the small olf version but it's nothing better game incredible 2 penalties missed Hearts to it. Atmosphere stunning at least Edinburghs big 2 still have respect for each other in giving away allocation to away supporters maby Celtic and Rangers should learn from this because it's not the at Parkhead and Ibrox without away fans bring it back because revenue will for clubs will drop with this on going fiasco going on

He is too lazy for the way Clarke has Scotland playing. We would have to change the way we play to fit Shankland into the starting line up, and that definitely won't happen. Shanks is only good for Scotland, when we would be chasing the game in the last 10 minutes and launching balls into the box and hope one drops for him.

I grew up watching Linlithgow Rose and Hearts. Thanks to the internet, I get to see them again here in South Africa. It's amazing, but I never saw Hearts beat Hibs, much to the delight of my friend.

I was getting the tram to work for my nightshift yesterday and the Jambo's on their way home from the match sounded resigned to losing Shankland next month and sounded pretty pessimistic about where the goals were going to come from without him. He's probably the best striker in Scotland at the moment.

Its a long journey but Exeter is worth a visit, biggest standing terrace in English football as well as being fully supporter owned. We also have a lot of history such as the first team to play the Brazil national team. Definitely worth it if youre ever down in the Westcountry. Also love the rangers content as a rangers fan. £3mil is small and I’d rather Rangers find decent sticker somewhere else to keep competition in the league, but that’s always hard with the English leagues inflating the prices for decent strikers that aren’t soft enough to play in Scotland.

Massive cross border DERBY this Sunday - Shrewsbury Vs Wrexham in the FA Cup. Looks like a sell out, gonna be fierce. Handfull of tickets left on general sale, its been 16 years nearly since they last played eachother on the 13th April 2008. Shrewsbury won 3-0 and virtually relegated Wrexham that day to non league. Overall in all English competitions it is 21 wins each and 11 draws. Tickets on general sale tomorrow, it would be good to get some coverage.

It’s all to do with the size of fan base. A large percentage of the Edinburgh population don’t follow football unlike through in Glasgow. The religious / political element of Celtic and Rangers also draws in a lot more fans for both sides

If he goes Sevco, they will have to pay 5M+ in Jan...tbh, prob more than that...he has the Euros to aim for...he is the diff for Hearts at present and entry in Europe gains about 5-6M...in short, if he goes to Sevco it will be in the summer and they will have to stump up money they don't for Scottish based players ordinarily. I think he will be in England after the summer when we get a fee reflective of his value to Hearts.

£3m for Shankland isn’t realistic. Qualification for European football is worth £4-5m for Hearts, plus with 18 months on his contract and proven scorers being a scarcity a Championship club would pay £6m, maybe up to £10m if there’s competition for him. In any case, it’s not worth Hearts letting him go for less than £5m and risking losing 3rd place.

According to Hearts accounts which came out last month, they pocketed £7.6m from UEFA last season. So Hearts should be looking for no less than £6m if you ask me

There’s been talk in the Scottish footballing media about Shankland going to Rangers they spun this narrative up and are trying to force a move whilst the Heart’s board have stayed publicly there has been ZERO contact from Rangers which proves this is the media trying to push a sale because it’ll benefit one of the old firm it’s embarrassing

Sam £3m won't buy his left leg. Not sure who that guy was that stated that's what Hearts would accept, but he's talking nonsense. Look at how much we rely on his goals, and how much finishing 3rd in league guarantees you with Conference league football (revamped next year to make clubs earn even more) and you'll know what kind of bid it would take to prize him away just now. Without his goals, Hearts won't finish 3rd in the league when you look at the spread of our goals so far this season!!
