Always remember, the vast majority of these were headed to the shredder if not for me. Better something is saved than nothing. I’m just one man and hundreds of these old cars and trucks get shredded every week that you never get to see.

i agree. i love the old cars and trucks, but realistically, nobody is restoring any 1 ton+ trucks, and they are lousey street rods. so cutting the nose off for wall art keeps at least a small part of history out of the crusher.

@@cannon3267 Yeah, sadly, their looks are all they have… cars are ugly now but they’re also engineered now to protect the occupants. Not so much back when these cool models were built. Wish we could manage both. I’d gladly drive something that looks like an old Ford pickup but doesn’t let me get shaken to jelly in a collision.

They will be couches,bars, benches,conversation pieces etc. For way longer than if they were left to rust away,be scrapped or totaled etc. I like the voice over when you are explaining exactly what you are doing, It adds more insight into the video!😊

I'm happy anytime you can get help. You have more work than one man can do. Yes, it hurts to see those old vehicles cut up but one has to consider how many countless salvages crush them without trying to save them. Also with prices up you need to crush all that you can before the price bottoms again. Enjoy your videos dear, it's getting about mushroom time! I'm hoping you'll get some time to go mushrooming and take us along. Stay safe and GOD bless

Very funny disclaimer! I’m not a car person but even I cringe at some of these. I love the history. I never made a very good Steampunk because it was too upsetting to see what they do to an antique watch… I still have a beautiful non-functioning pocket watch (that I found for $10) in my jewelry box because I was too scared to trade it to someone at a convention for fear that they’d gut it and make earrings and pins from the gears. But you can keep a pocket watch around. Not so easy with a bunch of Chevys.
@AdventuresMadeFromScratch

I’ve got some cool 100+ year old pocket watches as well! Maybe I’ll make a video about those on my 2nd channel. One is .800 silver dated from the middle of the Civil War. It’s not for sale at any price. I also have a gilded bronze clock tower with a watch face that was displayed in the White House in the late 1800s.

Great job. I have zero problem with keeping things flowing through the yard/business rather than waiting forever for a buyer who may not even exist, much less find you and deal with the shipping costs. Also, things don't get more rare and valuable by saving every last one of them, so you're doing collectors/restorers a favor in that way.

Yea, that was rough to watch. But, you can't save them all. You do a pretty good job on picking and choosing what to save back. One thing that is big in my area. Some people hoard many vehicles and say they will fix them up. They never do and won't sell any. They just leave them in a swamp for 30 years until they are good for nothing. Then they get too old to do anything and the family scraps them all. At least these ones can be bought and some of the parts are sold so it is not that bad.

Man, it is so sad to see all the noses in parts get cut off the trucks and even a lot of good parts scrapped. But I frequently think about when watching these videos that with how many of these old trucks are out there, there are not enough people that have the capability and desire to restore them and use them. With how many are getting scrapped everyday I can only imagine the thousand still sitting on farms. At least part of these trucks is still getting looked at and appreciated in the form of decoration. If anything I think you for taking the time to save as much as you can. Most of these trucks will never be restored anyway. At least now certain parts can be preserved.

I almost cried seeing these old trucks with almost perfectly straight Sheetmetal being cut into pieces….. but I do understand the financial side of business as well . Just a shame that someone cannot buy up all these for a profit to you & restore them to original glory . Out here in San Diego California we have an Old truck Museum out in Campo that has a bunch of really cool old rigs , some going back to the Bull -Dog Mack truck era of the 20’s & maybe ‘30’s . They are getting rarer & rarer to find all in one piece . Oh well , cannot save them all I guess.

Thanks Silas, a few of them were worth saving, but no-one bought them, so oh well, you've gotta run a business and not a storage yard! I liked that rusty blue longbed and that Mercury (but I wouldn't want to own it!!) How about spotlighting a car you'd like saved in the outro, it's not worth doing a website, unless you have found another 2 hours a day to do that! You could put a list of cars in the description, with price and if it has a title, that's much easier to maintain and the price needs to reflect what you can get parted out. Oh yeah, the voice over was great, good to mix it up a little!
