Good grief, I was in for a surprise when I went to remove my Invisalign attachments! Quite a lot has happened since my last Invisalign journey update, so I wanted to share the progress and my experience with refinements. As always, feel free to write any questions in the comments below and I'll try to answer - I know I always forget to include things when I'm filming, so I am happy to clarify anything.
I also love hearing about your experience with Invisalign, so feel free to share so we all feel less alone in our Invisalign journeys 🤗

Why your treatment is so long?is your case that severe?just curious cause I'm gonna get aligners soon
@zeeshanshaikh9139
@zeeshanshaikh9139 Ай бұрын
@@anu4479 My teeth are very crowded, and there is one tooth positioned behind the normal teeth line at the bottom. Two teeth on the upper jaw had to be removed to make room for my teeth to align, and the gap will close by the end of the treatment. But don't worry, your treatment likely won't be as complicated as mine, as this is a very rare situation. You may experience some discomfort with your first aligner, but it will gradually become easier.

I 100% agree with you about the being picky part because I’m the same way. With my Invisalign I make sure to tell them what I’m not happy with. I’m doing my refinements now and if these don’t fix everything I will do more because I have already paid for the treatment so I want to be 100% happy. I also don’t have to pay anything extra for the refinements.

Your teeth look amazing! Incredible result! I hope to get there as well. I just started two weeks ago, and by orthodontist etched part of my gums away by accident (I'll have to get a gum graft) when putting the attachments on. Since then I'm absolutely hating it, which is sad because I was looking forward to getting my teeth fixed. I hope it will have been worth it in the end.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear you have to go through that 😢 I hope you get support from your orthodontist and that you have a successful rest of your treatment. Although it obviously can't be compared at all, I have completely forgotten all of the more painful parts of my journey at this point and it all was easily so worth it in the end. I hope you feel the same at the end! Sending lots of healing thoughts, best of luck with both the Invisalign and the gum graft ❤️

I'm on my refinements. I'm trying to get over some disappointing news. My first trays were 18 trays. Now my refinements are 21. An extra year almost. They new attachments are okay. It did hurt getting some off. The attachment glue is nasty tasting. I had that taste in my mouth for days it feels like.

Hello! I am new here and still have a lot of videos to catch on but just a quick question: did you have stripping done to the teeth? I did my aligners scan but I am quite worried as we need to do stripping to a lot of teeth. I am almost at the point of backing out and leaving my teeth as they are.
@SandraSkaar
@SandraSkaar 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sisilia! I totally get your worry, I was really nervous to get it done as well, but I have had it to several teeth at this point (I would guess 4 or 5 times?). I also just had a little bit of filing between my two front teeth and I was *so scared* !! But it turned out really great. I can't see that it was done and I felt absolutely nothing (even if it took some trust to let my orthodontist come at my teeth with the spinning blade tool). I would say it's a super minor thing when you have a good orthodontist - at least in my experience! And I would not let that stop you from getting Invisalign 🤗 Let me know if you have any other questions or if something was a bit unclear, it can be a bit difficult to explain 😄

I am also doing this treatment. How do you deal with that in public places? do you take the aligners out on site or do you go away for a moment, e.g. to the toilet and take them out there?

I feel for you! For me it definitely got sooo much better within even the first week. I took a few OTC pain killers and it took the edge off, I've heard to avoid ibuprofen though, as it can hinder teeth movement. Hang in there, it's all worth it in the end! 🤗

Your teeth look fantastic! Sorry if you’ve already answered this question but it sounds like you don’t have a lisp, how long did that take to go away for you? And at what age did you start your journey?
@SandraSkaar
@SandraSkaar 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much!! For me it didn't really go away completely until I finished my lower row of teeth and could stop wearing aligners both on the upper and lower row 😩 It got a little better or more manageable after a few weeks I'd say, but it got worse every time I had my aligners out to eat and then put them back in 😅 Sorry, it seems people have differing experiences with it. And I started on my first aligner when I was 27 😊

Hi, thanks for this video, very informative. I did some research on the wire and found out that there are two types of wires that can be installed, one is attached to each tooth like yours which makes flossing difficult and one that attaches to the two teeth at either end of the wire and with this type flossing is possible. Perhaps check with your dentist about this. Also you can still floss with the type of wire you have, please check out Dr Saadia Sadiq's utube channel where she shows how to floss. I am still on my Invisalign journey. I started with 26 trays and then on tray 17 I was put on hold as my teeth were not tracking. I had to wait 2 months for a new set of trays, this time 22 in total. I had three attachments removed and redone as part of the new trays and the removal was awful, very painful and I'm not looking forward to when I have to remove all of them, I have around 26 I think!! I will definitely take some pain killers for that day, thank you for tip. Your teeth look amazing now. Also please check with your dentist again about night time retainers, most people use a wire and night time retainers, would hate for you to find your teeth have moved after all this effort because you didn't have a retainer. Good luck with the rest of your journey and to everyone else on their teeth journey.

Hi Sandra! I've just started my Invisalign journey and it's difficult for me because the food always stuck in between my teeth where IPR is done. How often do you brush your teeth? I'm brushing my teeth like 3 times a day
@SandraSkaar
@SandraSkaar 2 жыл бұрын
Oh no, that's annoying:( I had that issue when I had larger gaps too (but not from IPR I think?). I tend to only brush 3 times a day as well, sometimes I will use mouth wash (but not the ones with alcohol because they make my teeth so sensitive). I would definitely talk to your orthodontist about it, they may have some solutions to help you along until the gaps are totally closed.

Though I don't have much pain aftter 4-5 days of starting my Invisalign but after putting them back I can hear "click" sound on the back teeth whenever I'm biting with chewies and it feels like they're not fitted properly. Has it happened with you? I haven't talk to my dentist I don't know if it's a major issue to call him

@@nehab2348 I would give them a call, just to be sure! If there's a tracking issue, it's better to catch it now rather than later and if you call they might put your mind at ease if it's not something urgent 😊
