The reason i like horimiya so much is just because the character interactions feel like.. actually normal?? Nobody yells randomly or blushes and stutters everytime they see their crush it’s just like normal people being funny and falling in love. I’m super happy with the anime because the VAs carry this into it. The soundtrack is super chill and doesn’t blast randomly either.

About miyamura being perfect, later in the manga they meet one of his oldest friends. and miyamura acts completely different with him. He's loud, temper mental, and quick to hit him. i dont have the best memory but im pretty sure that after a bit, he starts to be more open with his friends at school.

Horimiya is actually one of my first manga

I just like Horimiya because its comfy and relatable and feels extremely true to life (despite knowing it’s fictitious as it can get). There’s no unnecessary drama and some of the drama are healthily annoying, similar to real life. There’s no other way to say it… *it hits different* .

As per usual, this man and his picks for clips!!! I love how while explaining stuff you just use Tooru for stuff. I also love how surprising it was that Horimiya was literally at the top for a while and then just phased into our mass hive mind, it seems as if us thinking of it brought it into existence, like some P5 stuff

Caught up to the manga after watching episode 1 and honestly I mostly liked it, because of the strength mentioned in this video, but I wouldn't put it among my favorites at all. I will wait for the anime to end and binge the rest to see if it changes my opinion a bit and I'll enjoy it more with the added voice acting and such. As for what I like the most is the interactions between the characters feel real and relatable, and Remi and Sengoku's relationship is just amazing. As for what I don't like (and that could be considered SPOILER, so WARNING DO NOT READ FURTHER) is Hori herself and how it seems that she and Miyamura have completely lost the aspects of themselves that they were trying to hide from the other, and also there being no need for these anymore apparently, cuz Hori's parents are basically around all the time now. Sometimes it was very hard to get through a chapter of a manga where you don't like THE main character...

I'm not gonna lie, as much as I like this adaptation, especially after the webcomic OVA we got, I wish they didn't skip so many chapters. Ch 2 is insanely good relationship development for the two. Although it kinda is a sort of FMAB-esque adaptation in that it expects you to have read the manga or watched the first adaptation.

I think a large part of what makes Horimiya's romance story so refreshing comes from the webcomic "Hori san to Miyamura kun" by HERO which serves as the original source material for the manga drawn by Daisuke Hagi. Although majority of western readers will never read the original Japanese Webcomic, HERO's "Hori san to Miyamura kun" reflects a creators ingenuity without conforming to industry standard romance tropes. Also, if anyone read this far, HERO's new webcomic "Ako to Bambi" is really amazing as well so far.

ive reread horimiya 8 times and im currently on my 9th my guess as to why its surprisingly popular is because it doesnt do anything particularly crazy, therefore not really getting much traction and discussion, but people still actively read and enjoy it series like haikyuu and kaguya sama and such have a lot going on which creates discussion and hype while horimiya pretty much wrapped up its main story and development within the first 30 or so chapters, becoming a slice of life after that, much more relaxed and comfy

Epic video, didn’t know much about this manga but now I’m interested.

I read it a few years back and for one reason it was one of those manga that made me come back. Now that I'm older, I realized the characters are quite mature and face each other honestly. Horimiya doesn't fall into relationship miscommunication that many other relationship in fictional stories and I respect the story for that. It's so great! And for some reason the main cast is hot 😂.

I unfortunately couldn’t use the coupon code because I’m not a new member, so I was a little disappointed I couldn’t support Hiding. What a fun video. It gives off the vibes of a friend who just found out about something that you also enjoy and is praising it for the same reasons you did. Like, seriously, is it that hard to make a romance that actually is based around romance? Also I feel like the anime is doing a better job then the manga. There have been a lot of changes or the slice of life moments get shuffled around, but it elevates the pacing to even greater heights. I thought it would be great if they ended this season on Hori accepting him as a boyfriend... oh boy, I underestimated them (or I just haven't read the manga in a while, probably also the case)

Horimiya is a certified banger! And yeah the madness with anime and romance is that it does tends to be harem, which is slightly upsetting when bangers such as clannad and bakemonogatari are not as famous (by people speaking wise not scores wise) which is kinda off-putting. Those types of romances are few and fare between but I feel like Horimiya does fill in the gap of just whole hearted light romance that deals wit actual problems in a relationship rather than oh no the demon lord has come how are we going to defeat him now trope. Great video as always! The editing in the first half is bloody brilliant if I must add! EDIT: The old season made by what I think was a fan was a masterpiece in all honesty as it was one guy doing basically everything and not a studio, do correct me if I'm wrong though

One of my all time favorite manga. I love what they've done with the adaptation. Literally my only complaint would be I feel like they've rushed a couple arcs a tad. I adore the voice casting, the animation is stellar and the direction has been out of this world. I'm still undecided whether it's a proper 10/10 for me, but it may just be my favorite manga adaptation for a manga I had actually read before watching the show.

Thank you, Hiding, I've been growing my quarantine hair for a while. Also, idk how I feel about this anime (not that I have read it, or watched the anime, I haven't) since while it does not have the one of the things I dislike most about romance stories, just goofing around making goofy jokes at all times, the way you described the guy, kind of a Mr. Perfect that feels like he is there to serve the girl, fits one of the other things I really dislike. I'm debating whether or not it's worth it, since recently I've been trying to expand my tastes into other stuff, like romance.

I like how the supporting characters are the ones with the relationship drama and not the main characters for once.

There are two editions of the manga. Makes me wonder which one I should collect... this is the anime that I was so looking forward to last year. And to top it off, concurrently, there is a live-action adaptation airing now (just started last night) in Japan! The live-action drama seems to be paced much faster, with scenes from episode 2 of the anime already in episode 1 of the live-action drama.

re-watched the whole series for 2x now, i feel like re-watching it again :D
