The merfolk commanders look amazing. I love the axolotl water snake commander. Sadly didnt see any of the precon commanders in this list.

Lannery Storm is probably good tbh. There’s a lot of evasion in pirates and she can grow them up to the point where they’re killing people really quickly. Also she synergises with clues, treasures and creature tokens like thopters. Adds a whole bunch of power for very cheap.

It would be nice, if you reviewed all the commanders released with a set. I would have loved to hear your opinion on Xavier Sal, infested Captain and other commanders released with the precons.

I'm a bit confused by the difference in your rankings between Akawalli and the Ancient One. Both require large amounts of setup for payoff, but the Ancient One has even more weakness to graveyard removal. Any graveyard removal on the Ancient One removes its use as a body completely, something Akawalli isn't susceptible to.

I assume it is because Ancient One's activated ability fills the yard extremely quickly and efficiently, turning itself on and fueling other graveyard strategies that would be played in that sort of deck. By contrast, Akawalli is totally dependent on other cards to go from vanilla 3/3 to something better.

I agree Caparocti isn't very good... But i think he'd work quite well in my Nahiri forged in fury living weapon/for mirroding deck? Like just tap the equipments that the creatures are equipped with. boom free value

I counted the # of commanders that you could pull from a Set booster, and there are 47 not counting reprints. This video has 29. Did I do something incorrect?

The others are part of the commander set, but you can still pull them in set boosters. he usually does a separate video for the commander set

The fun trick with Ghalta is that it can put itself into play with its own triggered ability, so it can go infinite with Temur Sabertooth (shocking, I know). Just have a 5+ mana producer like Selvala, an ETB untapper, and an Elemental Bond type that draws cards, and boom you have infinite mana and you've drawn your entire deck

Mr burn god is still my fav as far as things I wanna brew from the top. Well….I lied the enraged commander is pretty sweet the flavor! Oh an all the vamp demon goodies to play with. Very impressed with the commander decks this time around.

captain storm can get kinda scary with pirates that create artifacts. The boros guy sound like a tamer queen kayla bin-kroog.

Kutzil is stronger than B tier tbh. It's basically a grand abolisher in the command zone that draws you cards. Those two effects are really strong and nothing to be triffled with. Lately it seems Green/White has been getting some really spicy cards that makes even Winota run for her money. As for Nicanzil, I feel like she'd be a B or A tier. There are plenty ways to explore especially in simic with the new precon. It's a fun twist on the typical simic draw cards and ramp for days.

I bought a Bundle and pulled a copy of Ojer Taq and immidiatly went into my mono-white token deck. I tested her as the commander instead of Okrea and my god is she over powered. Endined up from 1 card with 99 Soilder tokens.

Captain Storm seems way better than D. She synergizes really well with treasure tokens because considered artifacts. Plus add Saheeli in that deck and get a copy of pirate hasted and a +1/+1 or another treasure token with haste.

I‘m still a bit unsure about Ojer Axonil because I‘ve just build a burn deck with Imodane which goes crazy in no time. Same goes for Ojer Taq who I thought at first sight would dethrone Mondrak in my monowhite token deck but since Mondrak is not just doubling creatures but any kind of tokens, he’s probably gonna keep his position as my commander. Ojer Kaslem is nice but also might work better under the regime of Vorinclex, Monstrous Rider. Buff him like hell to guarantee his ability. I love these gods nontheless but I dunno if they deserve their own decks (while looking at Imodane, Mondrak and Vorinclex) or if they might be a better fit in the 99 of those commanders.

I recently built a Kaslem Deck and brought it to my FNM, and oh boy do people not read Kaslem’s text. My opponents thought processes went like this: “a commander that turns into a land when it dies? Oh I’m just not gonna block it, cuz I need my…. Oh you got a Nykthos and a Silverback Elder out from the triggers, and we all forgot about your radagast, the brown on the field? Damn”. I just hope Kaslem stays as underrated as this, and it’s been two months since the set dropped.

Im gonna make Ancient One as a ramp/mill deck with graveyard synergies. Ill run cards that support mill like Bruvac, cards that cost a lot of mana like Shadow of Mortality, so basically the Yuriko type stuff, especially the big creaties like Emrakul, and then stuff like Chainer, Dementia Master to recur my big expensive creatures. Of course the deck will have wheels and a lot of mana rocks to dump mana into Ancient One. Any ideas for cards i could possibly run in this deck?

I do think the green god commander would be a bit lower. It focuses too much on needing to hit a player or its useless and it takes a while to get it back into play compared to the other gods. The white god token generator though is absolutely insane value for it.

I just started playing magic this year but if I’m not mistaken, tokens do count as permanents for the descend mechanic with the Mycotyrant. If I’m wrong can someone explain why?

They do not because Descend specifies "permanent card" and tokens are not cards

Zoyova is underrated. U should not underestimate the end step effects on cheap bodies. If it sticks 4 3 turns it is 27 damage.

@@ML7WL i agree. I would prefer this effect and 4 mana 4 creature. But with 2 mana, u can easily recast her from grave from time 2 time. And she can sleep under the radar.
