Im from Germany and learn something about Buddishm in Thailand holiday. So i read books, listen retreats and come to decision Buddhism is for me the truth. Luck for all :)

I am a newcomer to Buddhism. I am going through a process of healing. I have never known such acceptance. I am crying because I never knew such tender love.

MANGALA SUTTA: TRANSLATION AND PALI Thus have I heard: At one time the Blessed One was dwelling in Sāvatthī, in Jeta’s Grove, Anāthapiṇḍika’s Monastery. Then, with the waning of the night a certain deity of great splendour, illuminating all of Jeta’s Grove, approached the Blessed One, venerated him, and stood at a respectful distance. Standing thus, he addressed the Blessed One in verse: Evaṃ me sutaṃ ekaṃ samayaṃ bhagavā sāvatthiyaṃ viharati jetavane anāthapiṇḍikassa ārāme. Atha kho aññatarā devatā abhikkantāya rattiyā abhikkantavaṇṇā kevalakappaṃ jetavanaṃ obhāsetvā yena bhagavā tenupasaṅkami upasaṅkamitvā bhagavantaṃ abhivādetvā ekamantaṃ aṭṭhāsi. Ekamantaṃ ṭhitā kho sā devatā bhagavantaṃ gāthāya ajjhabhāsi [Deity:] ‘Many devas and men looking for safety have thought about things that are supremely auspicious. Tell me what is supremely auspicious.’ Bahū devā manussā ca maṅgalāni acintayuṃ Ākaṅkhamānā sotthānaṃ brūhi maṅgalamuttamaṃ [The Blessed One:] ‘Associating not with fools, but with the wise; and honouring those worthy of honour: this is supremely auspicious. Asevanā ca bālānaṃ paṇḍitānañca sevanā Pūjā ca pūjanīyānaṃ etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Living in a suitable locality having previously performed meritorious deeds, and having a rightly directed disposition: this is supremely auspicious. Patirūpadesavāso ca pubbe ca katapuññatā Attasammāpaṇidhi ca etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Being one of great learning, being well-trained in a craft and in the code of discipline, and having well-spoken speech: this is supremely auspicious. Bāhusaccañca sippañca vinayo ca susikkhito Subhāsitā ca yā vācā etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Supporting one’s parents, nurturing one’s wife and children, and having an occupation which is peaceful: this is supremely auspicious. Mātāpitu upaṭṭhānaṃ puttadārassa saṅgaho Anākulā ca kammantā etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Generosity, living a life of righteousness, assisting one’s relatives, and being virtuous in conduct: this is supremely auspicious. Dānañca dhammacariyā ca ñātakānañca saṅgaho Anavajjāni kammāni etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Shunning and spurning what is evil, abstaining from intoxicating drink, and being diligent in [doing] what is righteous: this is supremely auspicious. Āratī viratī pāpā majjapānā ca saṃyamo Appamādo ca dhammesu etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Respect, mildness, contentment, gratitude, and timely listening to the teachings: this is supremely auspicious. Gāravo ca nivāto ca santuṭṭhi ca kataññutā Kālena dhammasavaṇaṃ etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Patience, meekness when being admonished, the timely visiting of ascetics, and discussing the teachings: this is supremely auspicious. Khanti ca sovacassatā samaṇānañca dassanaṃ Kālena dhammasākacchā etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Austerity; the practice of celibacy; insight into the noble truths; the realisation of Nibbāna: this is supremely auspicious. Tapo ca brahmacariyañca ariyasaccāna dassanaṃ Nibbānasacchikiriyā ca etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘One whose mind does not tremble when touched by the [eight] worldly conditions, being free of grief and spiritual defilement, and who has reached safety from [the danger of] bondage [to individual existence]: this is supremely auspicious. Phuṭṭhassa lokadhammehi cittaṃ yassa na kampati Asokaṃ virajaṃ khemaṃ etaṃ maṅgalamuttamaṃ ‘Having cultivated such things, those who are everywhere undefeated [by Māra’s army] go everywhere in safety: this for them is supremely auspicious.’ Etādisāni katvāna sabbatthamaparājitā Sabbattha sotthiṃ gacchanti taṃ tesaṃ maṅgalamuttaman ti

Am not a buddhist by birth but funny when very young after schooling naturally will visit the buddhist temple to pay homage to our Lord Buddha then when adult my mum follow a group of Buddhists to visit temple and automatically I too follow and then on study budfhist books and started exploring buddhism. Till this day am still a buddhist and have encourage my family members to learn Buddhism. Love this religion because taught us the 5 precepts and 8 precepts wherein if we can follow we can be compassionate and possess integrity and kindness as well and etc etc which benefit our lives and others

All religious philosophies are versions of the truth, and none are intended to mislead, at least I think not, but only the word of the Buddha points to a path of final conclusion; for earth, nor heaven nor hell is permanent, only transit ports, some bring joy others sorrow, but no conclusion, Nirvana is the final conclusion and can only be attained via the Noble 8fold path. May we all choose wisely. 🙏🏽

A sinhalese buddhist here..my parents gave me birth as a buddhist kid..They did not break our 2300 years old conteneous buddhist generation..neither I am going to..I my self dedicate to continue the golden reign of my Buddha till my last breath..

I've been hurting inside for awhile & I keep pushing it out & staying positive. I am a spinal cord injury survivor. I've learn to meditate & keep my chakras positive. I know there is a better tomorrow, just keep my head up & keep going. To the person reading this, believe in yourself.
