Latin sometimes translate as Holly balls, erecting resurrecting crucifying never dying epic Underworld/Vatican mashup crusade. And writing battle cries for both sides it seems. Not far of the real deal, huh 🤔

I just realized that PowerWolf pronounces Latin in the clerical/ catholic way, which makes sense with their songs, but too bad it's not older Latin like the way it was actually pronounced

We don't know how Latin was a tally pronounced. Since. You know. Dead language. It's dead for a reason.

@@toolatetothestory we actually know a lot about pronunciation from a lot of sources, notably Latin graffiti, in which a lot of people spelled things phonetically (and thereby wrong), giving us now a good idea of the classical pronunciation, which uses more hard consonants, unlike Ecclesiastical Latin, which has more in common with modern Italian pronunciation wise

@@madeinchina4179 There's the graffiti, there's also the works of late antiquity grammarians correcting the "faulty" forms (e.g. "auctor, non autor"), there's the renderings of Greek words and names (or renderings in Greek of Latin names), as well as Romance languages and dialects.

Have you ever looked into the mixing the orchestral versions of songs from the older albums? Off the top of my head I think Raise your fist Evangelist and Ira Sancti would be good to make the most powerful versions

When you think Christian, chances are pretty good you’re imagining something Catholic. Most of Western Europe followed it, with the exception of England who were Protestants if I remember right. Eastern Europe mostly follows the Eastern Orthodoxy by contrast.
