They have banned primers and powder and now they want to ban brass and fmj bullets.... Unless you have an FAC. Some gang in london used a martini Henry in a drive by.... It's classed as an obsolete caliber but not easy to make ammo. I would say the best obsolete caliber firearm you can buy in the UK, no permit and brass is easy to find is the older 7.5mm Swiss SR straight pull rifles. I've seen some crazy stuff like nail gun blanks, reloaded primers in homemade or random firearms.

Years ago I had some of this ammo and the only problem I had was some miss fires, Which required simply reloading the cartridges with fresh powder and primers. Sadly, these days my eyes are far too bad from MAC to use sights on a rifle any more (I have a blank spot in the center of vision) and I have not fired a gun since 1991

I get that it can be seen as collectible ammunition, but I have purchased 1950s TW, WCC, WRA, and LC M2 ball for 1.00-1.75 per round as well as WW2 dated M2 ball (FA, DM, U, and DEN) for about the same price through 2021. It will be interesting to see how much the WW2 .45ACP will be going per round.

I was a kid in 2000s so I wasn't able to get in on the "shotgun news pricing" of the 1990s and 2000s. However, by the time I turned 18, I was able to get some Greek HXP from the CMP when I got my first M1 garand. I love shooting HXP but that stuff has dried up as well.

@@taylorratliff405 Don't make me feel old. I turned 21 in 2006! I have 156 ammo cans that line the basement wall of my tool room. All surplus ammo. 8mm Greek, 8mm turk, 30-06 greek, LC .50BMG, Kynoch .303, Win 7.62 Nato, Win .45 ACP, Romanian 9mm, Bulgarian 7.62x25, BA 30-40 Krag, ect ect. No one wanted the stuff!! most pulled the bullets and dumped the rest. Most was corrosive. But that Greek ammo, in any caliber, that was the cats ass! I found it superior to US standards.
@taylorratliff4052 жыл бұрын
I wish there were still deals on good surplus ammo like that these days. Unfortunately, M2 ball spec USGI and foreign surplus is hard to find. Maybe one day I will have an ammunition supply like yours, but it is rather doubtful as the "good old days" of surplus/militaria collecting seems to have ended. On a side note, it seems the RTI has dropped their prices to about $1.70 per round as of 3:20 pm on 2/4/2021. I should have taken a screen shot from yesterday because it was higher yesterday.

It’s a shame that they won’t sell to people who live in New Jersey. I’m a retired cop I did firearms paperwork in my department. It is totally legal to ship ammunition to New Jersey. All they would need is my drivers license and a copy of my firearms ID card. They choose not to ship here where I live I would give them tons of business. It’s a real shame. Years ago you could order ammo and it came from anywhere you ordered it didn’t matter that you lived in New Jersey.

@bad74maverick12 жыл бұрын
If they're anything like the 1919 kits DON'T BOTHER!! Total trash. Guys who just got theirs in on 1919a4 forum are very disappointed. Kits are missing major components and I don't know what RTI's version of "Light surface rust" is but those kits were horrible!! The first kit showcased on the forum not only was missing major parts including the locking frame and extractor set, but it had the feed spacer because it wasn't 30-06 it was 8mm! Several guys are planning on calling tomorrow wanting the missing parts or just a return for refund. They're pretty rough.

I would bet that they buy for .30-.35 per round (we are talking Africa) sell here for $2.30, talk about INFLATION ! Even adding shipping, fees, taxes to get it here, selling at $1.00 - $1.25 per round would make them a 200% to 300%+ profit.

@@royaltigerimports The ammo should be fine it is sealed in Spam Cans,Not Tin,s also it is packed that way for long term storage.As long as the Spam cans are not damaged,dented it should be fine,Dented damaged spam cans can leak and form condensation inside.But being packed in wood crates id think none will be dented unless it was planced in the wood crates that way. 1953 TW is Non Corrosive ,As for his price he could come down a little more if he wants to move it,If he wants to store it and let it trickle out the door thats ok to it is his ammo,But moving product puts money in the bank running warehouses full of it can be risky.Someone else may bring a catch in to the country and undercut him bigtime.Im sure there are many other countrys who still have lots of M1 Ammo in storage they would like to move and free up the warehouse spece and out quit paying a lease to someone for space in one. RTI could easily be undercut at anytime. Also much more ammo is being produced on the commercial market now and prices are dropping .

@buckberthod50072 жыл бұрын
@@royaltigerimports Everything got expensive because arseholes like you said "Hey we can double our prices and blame it on inflation and covid!". Our gas prices are jacked because we have an incompetent, illegitimate "President" who has shut down pipelines, destroyed domestic oil,and has made us more reliant on foreign oil thus causing our prices to skyrocket. Wasn't but 2 years ago I was paying $1.68 a gallon for gas. So please, spare your BS talk. This is false artificial inflation in prep for the great reset.

Considering the poor storage conditions, the heat. I wonder how reliable the ammo is, or is it just a gorgeous piece of history to collect. The 1950s Italian ammo that came out of Africa long ago was all dead. Primers had died. Though we did reclaim the projectile & powder to load in new cases. That worked just fine.
@luked2767 Жыл бұрын
I would be thinking exactly the same thing. Corrosive primers do last much longer and it's why comblock calibers stuff use them. But in heat primers and powder can go down but not every nation in Africa is super hot and it depends where it was stored. If in a profesional underground depot then it may be fine. I have shot some very rare ammo that I should not have shot (even removed the semi rim from jap 7.7 mg Oldest ammo I ever shot was a crate and no markings and it was sold as an unknown caliber. (7mm mauser) I assume it was in south America / Mexico for a long time but i put a pic online and apparently it was made maybe 1912 One of my favorite calibers and it shot just fine. I once had a great deal on some 8mm mauser ammo, steel case, I was thinking wow this stuff is real hot. Turned out I shot over 50 rounds of factory proof loads. These finds are going to get more and more rare. I really hope Russia diloves so I have food for my Finnish mosins and AKS, / SKS I still have alot of ammo and when a centerfire rifle round is cheaper than steel case 9mm like the 7N6 you know you should invest in it. Same with tok ammo and .54R I managed to get a few cases of old .54r on clips and they are so much better than new production. Never had any problems with steel case even in an AR just put some oil in the chamber. A big shame is so much ammo is still out their but since a lot has a mild steel core to save on lead or for effects but not AP alot can't be imported. I wish the China ban never happened.
