I’ve always seen ginsters as the equivalent of Poundland cheap sausage rolls. I’m not a fan of Cornish pasties anyway but ginsters never really looked appealing. When he said Frey bentos my mouth watered a little though 😂

As an American, could you tell me what a pasty is? In US English, a pastie are the stickers women sometimes place upon their nipples!

I'll admit, I personally am an Emmet, but my family have been living in and visiting Cornwall for years. My nan lived in Newlyn for years. My family are from Somerset, until my parents moved up to the Midlands and adopted me. We stay in Hayle when we holiday almost every year. I like Philps.

@@Bullheadranch …..a proper Cornish pastie is a a half moon shaped pastry dish that is filled with some vegetables and meat and potatoe and has a thick crust around the pastie which acts as a handle…..originally pasties were made for the workers who worked all day in the deep coal mines around the country and because it was such a dirty job that made there hands so dirty that’s why the pasties had a handle……some pasties were half meat and veg and the other half would be made up of something sweet for there pudding……the handle of the pastie wasn’t meant for eating the main purpose that it served was so the coal miners could eat there pasties around the handle without getting them dirty , after which they would just dispose of the handle.
