You have to imagine that. The parents of these kids were still small or even not yet born at the time when these songs were in the charts. These songs are 50 to 60 years old and they sang them as if they were released yesterday. My greatest respect.

The Winner Takes It All performance....awesome considering her age...she has a great handle on the music and English lyrics...just think if any of the judges has turned earlier her self confidence may have let her really get into the song a little more! She has a very listenable voice/talent and I would enjoy following her progress thru the competition.

As I remember, Maria Mirova won that year. It is very understandable that she won. Abba's song "The Winner Takes All" is a very depressing song. Anyone who knows it, and the history of Abba, know it is about a marriage breakup. Maria, was spot on with the emotion and dynamics of that song. Not even a lot of adult singers get it correct and, laugh and smile while singing the song. Totally wrong. It is a very sad song not a happy song. Maria pulling off that song is proof enough why she was the winner that year.

Maria was eliminated in the Playoffs. Winner of that season was Sabina Mustaeva. But agree - Maria was great with this song.
