The mover-blocker was just one of the main offensive sets UVA ran in 2019. They primarily ran continuity-ball screen that year because it better fit their personnel and then sprinkled in the mover-blocker and even some triangle action depending on the matchups.

I appreciated the tape breakdown, but it’s obvious this guy either doesn’t like Virginia or maybe doesn’t understand basketball as much as he claims to (PGC?). The commentary on the mover-blocker offense is just poorly done, showing a basic lack of understanding of what UVA does, particularly the role of the blockers. Diakite and Hunter are not just there to block. Same with the Packline Defense. What do you mean it’ll be a liability when teams figure out how to be aggressive on the catch? The ACC has been dealing with it for 10 years and still can’t figure it out. Auburn was an elite defensive team too and had all the players necessary to give UVA’s D fits and yet they managed 62 points. Some of the “analysis” is just ignorant, sorry.

Hey Coach love your insight and attention to detail. Still wondering why big time schools are clogging the lane so much and not allowing space for their guards to shoot and created shots by driving. It has me confused a little. The NBA is doing such a good job at setting the pace for what works but there are still big time programs that clog the lane every offensive possession and have to rely on hard shots going in. Do you have any clue why they are not keeping up with the evolution of the game! Thanks!

Hello sir, I’m a little biased making this comment as I am a UVA fan. I appreciate the breakdowns you do in your videos, they really give a lot of insight into what teams are running in the game. I understand you HATE Virginia’s blocker-mover offense and I’m pretty much in agreement with you on that. However, I wish you would talk more about things Virginia did well. Especially considering they won the game ultimately. This video almost felt like a hate on Virginia and how they play ball. You seemed very critical of everything Virginia did even down to the shot they took to get Kyle Guy that three when they were down 4. You made it sound like getting that 3 for him was a boneheaded play when in reality it was well run by the team to get their best 3 point shooter the space he needed to get a shot up. I’d love to hear from you some things Virginia did well on offense and defense besides that one elevator set you really loved. Thank you.

Coach Nick, This is very delayed but I wanted to clear some things up. First of all Deandre Hunter isn’t a blocker in the offense especially when both Jack Salt and Diakite were on the court My biggest problem with your complaints about the mover blocker is that it’s not like Diakite or Salt could shoot anyways. It’s not like you can space the floor when you have two non-shooters(which is not rare for college ball at all). College ball has a lot more traditional big men and is a step delayed behind the nba in terms of every position being able to spot up. Virginias offense isn’t outdated, college basketball is.

Coach, I'm surprised that you don't know your stuff better! While Virginia almost exclusively ran the blocker-mover offense prior to this season, the team has also implemented a fair amount of continuity offense this year. EDIT: Also, the blockers' job isn't just to set screens and only score on open looks under the basket. They definitely do look for opportunities to score off of those screens (such as with a pick-and-roll or a pick-and-pop, as Diakite has done many times this year). EDIT #2: Okay, so you did mention that they've implemented some pick-and-roll offense. But I disagree about it being an "excuse" - one reason why the Cavs have been running some continuity offense (it's not just a pick-and-roll offense) this year is that it allows Hunter to use his skillset more effectively.

that's choking at its finest. There are some really awkward calls that you cannot miss as a referee with thousands of hours of experience. And still miss the basic calls. But even so, as a Coach, you MUST communicate with your players, in timeout or whilst on the floor. Its a must. Fouling while up is a serious mistake.

Refs definitely missed the double-dribble infraction but made the right foul call in the end. Bitter pill to swallow for Auburn. Just can't help but wonder how they missed that dribbling violation.

I think they're annoying. I know it's a football stadium but why? Maybe just the setup and angle of seats. Better than playing the final four in a high school gym like the Women's game.

On your Euroleague content plz cover players on your next vids such as Sharas as a player, Diamantidis, Anthony Parker, Papaloukas or some current players that are destroying and in their prime like Shane Larkin Mike James De colo but like just a mixture of current and retired players would be nice and better than players like Spanoulis who’s still great but way passed his prime as he’s 37 now about to retire

Meh. 8:10 is an arm swipe right as he was shooting. 10:19 is a jersey swipe like a weak body check as he was fumbling a dribble.

But wait... Why would Auburn’s coach call a timeout to ice him? Why not take the chance he’s gonna make them, call timeout advance up the floor and try to get at the rim? Wouldn’t that have given them a better chance than the full court heave? Please respond I’ve been asking this question since the game
