This Mom is so thoughtful. "Did I ever whip you." Answer No.My Mom spanked me and I thank her everyday for it. Now, I think that Mom is so calm because she had to deal with that husband of hers. I would not put up with his ego and heaven will not also. We are all given time to learn to be humble. Anyone over 90 years of age should be humble and not trying to be a pimp.

What!!! You never got a whipping??? When I was a youngster, I thought that whippings were a fact of life. I began to look forward to them just to hurry and get them done. I often hoped that my mother would never discover that punishments of revocation of privileges would have been very effective for me. Just to name a few: state fair, public park, zoo trip, first prom, school socials, end-of-year field trip, ball games, etc. Taking any privileges away would have been close to torture. My dad never punished us children. Strange, but we never misbehaved under his watch.
