I have something very similar, not a Fiskars but similar knife with a slightly higher grind. It is an absolute pleasure to use. Fiskars seem to have completely given up on making puukkos. All I have seen is those horrible plastic handled knives that they make in recent years. No idea why anyone would choose one over a Mora. The Orijarvi looks fantastic. Shame they don't seem to make anything like that anymore. Not seen any mushrooms here yet. We had a horrible dry/hot period. Hopefully that hasn't messed the season up too much. Great video Llari, you always find great locations to film in.

It really is a shame and weird that they have give up making knives, having such a long tradition behind them. The ones they make nowadays with the plastic handles are really bad. Just tried one couple of weeks ago, ridicilous.. But this one really is fantastic!! Happy to use this although its kind of antique. Thanx for watching Tim, and have a great day!

@@OldForestBushcraft totally agree, I have one of the new ones somwhere and it's junk. I also have an older plastic handled Fiskars and there is nothing wrong with it.

I really like the way the blade looks, almost saber very high scandi. I have owned one fiskars axe I’ve never had the opportunity to buy a fiskars knife. I would very much like to find one just like yours awesome blade! If they have been around for so many years the steel must be pretty decent.

Was actually quite suprpised how much I liked it. Great design. I think the steel is propably going to be decent, at least. Which is good enough for me. In my experience, at least with finnish puukkos, the steels of old knives have been, in some cases, even better than many modern ones. Thanx for watching man!

I didn't know about how common these knives actually were, so that's interesting. I'm used to seeing old Marttiini puukkos (and also some Leukus) here in Lapland. I'll have to get one of those Fiskars puukkos sometime soon, they look nice.

See them regularly on second hand places, and with good prices too. I really do like the design. Though no idea yet how the steel is going to perform. Lets see.. Thanx for watching!

@@OldForestBushcraft I already looked at some second hand... So maybe I'll buy atleast one in the future. In my opinion if the steel is not compelete garbage it's good enough for me, I'm not a massive steel nerd (atleast yet...) Mutta joo, thanks for the informational video .

I also like a high scandi. The trailing point on it, coupled with the thinner high scandi blade, should make that a really great hunting knife. My favourite puukko design would be the Tommi puukko. I'm very anxious to find one of those knives! Great video. Glad you were able to get out for a break from company. (The two best days of having company is the day they arrive, and the day they leave! Lol!)

Yeah, definitely, forgot to mention it: should be a great hunting/fishing knife also! Im eyeing on Tommi puukkos all the time. Never owned one, and will get one very soon:) I think I’ ve learned over the years to take my own time, before the crankiness hits😀. ”The two best days of having company is the day they arrive, and the day they leave! Lol!” Right on!😂 Thanx for watching, and have a great day!

I agree, I've also looked at Tommi puukkos, I'll probably make my own at school, since many good Tommis cost too much for me atleast. They are very cool thou... High scandis are the best scandis in my opinion. (I make some of my own knives sometimes at home, but if I want some special type of blade I have to make it, and it's possible at school)

I would argue that Marttiini has made the most Finnish brand of knives, not Fiskars. Their OEM agreement with Rapala has been going on since the 1970’s with distribution world wide. Granted, this is a filet knife, not a puukko. Just saying

Its possible (the Martiini fillet is really popular). Have one also😃. Thing is they started making the Orijärvi Puukko allready 1920. Also they mass produced them directly to schools (etc.)without sheats. Even I remeber in my school, in the woodwork class room had countless and countless of them. Think I read the fact in Anssi Ruusuvuori's 'The Finnish Puukko'. Also mentioned in a Puukko exhibition here In Fiskars village where I live. But I guess the title should say 'the most sold Puukko knife' Thanx for watching!
