I'm Ukrainian and I always thought it was strange how many dismissed the Klitschkos and their reign in boxing, calling it the "boring era". This was an amazing documentary and recap, and I appreciate that Vitali was your idol growing up--a great idol to look up to both in and outside the ring. And now, Usyk has avenged the Klitschkos by defeating Fury, and becoming even greater in boxing history as one of if not the GOAT on all metrics. Like the great Muhammad Ali (idol of Usyk), some boxers fight for more than just the sport, but for ideals/nation/freedom, elevating their style altogether. Thank you my brother, keep up the amazing work - from a Ukrainian 🇺🇦💪

Thank you, this was a great reminder of how Vitali Klitschko became a great without many people noticing. Vitali is also my favorite boxer of all time. In a sport where most boxers are wife beaters, showboats and just classless, Vitali showed his character each time he confidently moved forward with a We Will see instead of a diatribe about how awful the other person was. He was a warrior in and out of the ring. I miss watching him fight. He is one of the best though he will never be remembered that way in the West.

Vitali's record indicates he is one of the greats of boxing! Against Chris Byrd in a title fight he was easily winning on points before he tore a rotator cuff. The contest was stopped. This bout was counted as a loss. Supposedly, the only ' household big name' he fought was Lennox Lewis. Vitali was winning on points before the cut caused the bout to be stopped in round 6. Post fight, Lewis was an ungracious, lucky victor, claiming it was a matter of time before he, LL, won. Lewis retired shortly afterwards, indicating he wanted to avoid a rematch with Klitschko at all costs. The aforementioned are recorded as his only losses, when Klitschko was winning on points before the premature conclusion of both contests. Vitali's knock out record is phenomenal! Hardly anybody went the distance against him over a 40 odd bout career. Moreover, he appeared to win almost every round he fought in every contest. Along with Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano and Cassius Clay/Mohammed Ali in the 60s, Vitali Klitscho has to be considered one of the all time greats in boxing history, even if others like his brother, Wladimar, have been better technicians and more stylish. Vitali K was very dominant over the course of his long, successful career. It wasn't his fault his career was at the end of a strong era, when Foreman, Tyson, Holmes, Holyfield, Bowe and Lewis, were close to their prime.

I've been saying THIS for years! He used his size and power perfectly. His reflexes we're incredible for a big guy. His awkwardness is his catch 22. It helped him win EVERY professional fight on the scorecards, but some boxing critics still say that he wasn't skilled and he's not mentioned among the greats. He was different and it worked. Much respect to him with his boxing career and what he's fighting against now. Great video, sir!

Great documentary - really touched me. In Germany both Klitschkos are legends for being such skilled fighters in the ring and such likeable and loving guys outside. We have huge respect for them. And as of today, they joined the Ukranian armed forces and fight for the freedom of their country - although they could live comfortably anywhere in the world. Well, so much for the "Not the heart of a warrior"-claims. As I said. Legends.

Wow! What an amazing documentary. What an amazing fighter. The very first heavyweight championship boxing match I ever watched live was Lewis vs Klitchko. I was a teenager and watched it with my mom. We watched some of the pre-fight programming and we picked Klitchko as our man because we thought Lewis was arrogant and entitled and needed knocked down a peg. Watching the fight, even as someone with very little boxing knowledge, it was obvious that Klitchko dominated for all 6 round and that Lewis was finished by the end of those 6 rounds and it was clear in the interviews afterward that Lewis knew he lost thr fight, but his ego couldn't take it. What an amazing introduction to the sport. I was have loved to see Vitaly fight the likes of Tyson Fury or a prime George Forman. Vitaly is definitely the most underrated boxer of all time.

@@uzukboxing americans are so biased towards their own athletes. They will never give the klitschkos the credit they deserve. But lets not forget that the klitschko bros couldv signed a deal with don King to get more money and easier fights but they said no coz they wanted to fight the best. And people who say it was a weak era dont realize that it was only weak coz klitschkos were so dominant they made everybody look weak.

Thanks for showing how the injury happened in the Lewis fight. I wondered about a head butt, but couldn't see it happen. Left side of Vitali's face was repeatedly lacerated by the inside of Lewis's right glove. Interesting that nobody wants to talk about that.

No kick boxer ever became a heavy weight boxing champion before. He is the only one to make that transition. Randy Tex Cob was a heavyweight kick boxer but he never became a boxing champion . Vitali is also the only fighter to have a PHD and like his brother Wladimir they speak several languages . Vitali is now Mayor of Kiev . They are totally unique especially as they both fought in the same weight class and in the same time holding all belts in between them at one time YET they dont get the credit they so clearly deserve and the reason is simple . They were not Yankees or English men . Can you imagine two american or english brothers ruling the division in between them. You never hear the end of it. They were based in Germany and had a German promoter so the big yankee events and money was missing . They both did not fall for Don King and both saw him for what he was. A dishonest hustling Vampire .

Absolutely fantastic video. I always loved the Klitschko brothers. The two brothers where never disrespectful or mouthy with regard to the opposition which some boxers could take a lesson from. And after watching this you are 100% correct about Vitali, you never hear his name mentioned in boxing discussions which is bloody outrageous.. He was totally WORLD CLASS... If you picked on his younger brother Vlad you could only hope he beat you because if you beat him his big brothers gonna feckin kill you....

Wow just compare the Armateur record of wladimir with anthony Joshua's. 134 wins out of 140 fights. Aj has only 34 fights and 4 losses. Here you can see how much effort the klitschko brother had to put in to become pros because they came from a soviet country.

Very true my friend! Most fighters have to bust their butt to ever get a shot. Nothing is given to 99.9% of the people in this sport. You have to earn it to make it...except if you are marketable sadly. But looks mean nothing in this sport. A truly exceptional tribute to the great Vitali who was never bested in the ring only inconvenienced by injuries whilst dominating fights. Lewis was a truly salty dude who could not give credit to opponent's and the greatest examples of this are his bouts against Bruno, Mercer and Vitali, the post fight interviews in these bouts are truly nauseating. Lewis loved money but wanted no part of the 25 million plus to get smashed about by Dr iron fist again and wisely exited the sport rapid🤣

Thank you for making this video, it was a love letter to your boxing hero; well done! Vitali was terrific in my opinion. I didn't know he was such a gentleman outside the ring, and I love athletes like that, classy and respectful, so I like Vitali even more now, congratulations, another job well done! Also, I read through the comments and I saw some stuff about Americans; full disclosure, I'm an All-American boy and love my country as much as Vitali loves his (and I very much like that he's a patriot too!). Just know that NOT EVERYBODY in America dislikes him or thinks he wasn't a great fighter. Not saying you did this, just as a general point of information. I think what it mostly is, is you try to put together, say, a Top 10 listing of great heavyweights, and there have been so many you just can't fit them all in! Sometimes I think that happens to Vitali. Or it's just a styles thing, and he doesn't appeal for that reason, that doesn't mean he's a bad fighter or whatever. I like hitters at heavyweight, and Vitali sure could hit! I mentioned this in another comment here, I have a tough time keeping him out of my personal Top 5! For my money, he's a solid bet as a guy that could possibly beat any other heavyweight on any given night, given his gifts of size, strength, punching power, beard, ring IQ, physical fitness so he doesn't gas out easy, great trainer to set him up for victories, etc. I think he has, historically, maybe the highest likelihood to do that, either defeat anybody else or even if he loses give them fits and bruises, so they know they've been in a fight (see: Lewis bout). And I don't know what higher compliment you can give a boxer than that! I also didn't know that he so closely mimicked another favorite of mine, the awesome George Foreman. I just looked up Foreman's record before he took 10 years off and lent his crown to all those other guys for awhile lol: 45-2 with 42 KOs for an outstanding 89.36% KO rate. Vitali was 45-2 with 41 KOs for an outstanding 87.23% KO rate. I couldn't believe how closely they matched up: they're boxing brothers from a different mother! No wonder I love both guys so much, they're essentially the same fighter! I was stunned by the similarities in record, amazing warriors, both of them. It also leads me to believe that, if Vitali WERE to mount a comeback, given the thunder in his fists, just like Foreman's thunder in his, he could be successful in his return (though he has his hands full currently battling Russians outside the ring!). Nobody wins all the time, that's just boxing, but Vitali seemed to give a good accounting of himself, always showed up and gave you a great effort, win or lose. Again, that's a huge compliment to hm and his work ethic! Add to that his patriotism and his being a class act outside the ring... sounds like a real winner to me! Also, thank you for sharing that personal story of watching the Lewis fight with your family; that made it clear how special he was to you as a fan. Thanks again for taking the time and effort to make a great biography of a great fighter. Got you a subscription! Take care, sir.

Wladimir Klitschko dominated Brewster through the course of the first four rounds, sending him to the canvas in the fourth; however, things turned around unusually fast in the fifth when Klitschko began tiring and Brewster's punches began backing him up. Not defending himself and leaning into ropes for support, Klitschko took a standing eight count. On unsteady legs, Klitschko fell to the canvas after the bell and the referee stopped the fight for his safety. When talking about the fight, Emmanuel Steward said: "Wladimir was in incredible shape. I've never seen anything like this in my career. I know what it looks like when a boxer is getting hurt from punches. There was definitely something else that caused problems for Wladimir". Shortly after the fight Klitschko was rushed into hospital. An examination showed Klitschko's blood sugar level almost two times higher than the permissible norm. According to members of Klitschko's team, the doctor told them that Klitschko had been "inches away" from falling into a diabetic coma, and that with blood sugar level that high, Klitschko would've been incapable of handling a single proper training session. After returning from the examination to the hotel, he fell ill with nausea, followed by physical weakness. On 12 April, he arrived in Las Vegas and donated blood and urine samples for an independent examination, which was supposed to be done by Donald Katlin, who specialized in such cases. The examination showed no signs of anabolic steroids in his blood, but Katlin suggested that Klitschko could have been poisoned with Haloperidol. The drug has no taste or smell and causes mental disorders, which are accompanied by impaired coordination, a weakening reaction and overall physical weakness. Following the results, Klitschko demanded the tests taken by the Medical Center of South Nevada and the Nevada Quest Diagnostics to be passed on to Dr. Robert Wow for further research, but the A sample had already been disposed of, while the B sample, which was supposed to be stored for years, disappeared. As a result of the circumstances that surrounded the fight, FBI started an investigation. Judd Bernstein, the lawyer representing Klitschko, suggested that he was a victim of an ongoing fight fixing in Las Vegas (which also included fraudulent medical reports), which was investigated by FBI at the time. Bernstein, along with some other journalists, pointed out that in the last 48 hours before the beginning of the fight, the betting odds in favor of Klitschko rapidly dropped from 11-to-1 to 3 1/2 to-1. According to journalist Keith Teixeira, a group of approximately 40 people associated with Brewster's manager Sam Simon bet from $50,000 to $100,000 on Brewster's victory. Members of Klitschko's team also pointed out that shortly before the fight, a security camera recorded a moment when two people entered Klitschko's booth and were there for four minutes. These people had badges, but weren't members of Wladimir's team. Wladimir's brother Vitali claimed that during registration of the boxer and his team, the card that belonged to Emmanuel Steward's assistant had already been registered on someone else, and that such card would allow its owner to enter any sporting hall in the building.

In 2021, Wladimir Steel ⚒️ Hammer Klitschko was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame by a panel of 200 international boxing historians. Wladimir defeated 12 previously undefeated fighters with a combined record 267-0-5 (174 KOs). These 12 included Najee Shaheed (professional record 16-0-1, 8 KOs coming into the fight), Zoran Vujicic (14-0, 6 KOs), Eliseo Castillo (18-0-1, 14 KOs), Samuel Peter (24-0, 21 KOs), Calvin Brock (29-0, 22 KOs), Sultan Ibragimov (22-0-1, 17 KOs), Ruslan Chagaev (25-0-1, 17 KOs), Mariusz Wach (27-0, 15 KOs), Francesco Pianeta (28-0-1, 15 KOs), Alexander Povetkin (26-0, 18 KOs), Kubrat Pulev (20-0, 11 KOs) and Bryant Jennings (19-0, 10 KOs). Wladimir has beaten 9 current or former world champions throughout his career. These included heavyweight champions Chris Byrd (twice), Ray Mercer, Lamon Brewster, Samuel Peter (twice), Sultan Ibragimov, Hasim Rahman, Ruslan Chagaev and two-weight world champion David Haye, as well as unified cruiserweight champion Jean-Marc Mormeck. Dr. Steelhammer went undefeated for 11 years and holds the record for the longest cumulative heavyweight title reign of all time, with 4,382 days (12 years) as world Heavyweight champion which is longer than Joe Louis' 11 years 8 months.
