Bruce's voice now is better than ever. I've seen the Legacy of the Beast tour live and I thought Bruce was bad and that Maiden will have to retire soon. Then, the Future Past tour comes and Bruce is suddenly better than ever and he had to sing CSIT, which is one of the most difficult Maiden songs to sing. I hope they can keep this level for many years to come. I'm not ready for them to retire.

Possibly unpopular opinions…. 1. Ever since Trooper Beer came out in 2012/13 they have been milking the song and the Eddie to death by sticking/integrating it into EVERYTHING they’ve done (with the exception of Future Past) Some examples of this is: - The Maiden England tour Eddie with the Jumping Horse - The Nights of the Dead Eddie basically being the Trooper Eddie with Day of the Dead face paint - The Legacy 2021-22 tour artwork with the 2 Minutes theme and Trooper vs Senjutsu - The inner art of Senjutsu being a modernised version of the Trooper artwork with Eddies stance - Trooper Beer specialised tour merch on Every Tour since 2013 2. Remove The Trooper and Fear of The Dark from regular setlists and have them being treated like how Run To The Hills is (Taken in and out of tour sets every 3/4 years) (Disclaimer: I love The Trooper but I just think it’s branding has been overused in recent times and the song itself is overplayed and could do with a rest)

Since Pooch came on board Maiden's live sound is better than any other band touring today.

1. Janick's in Iron Maiden and the ones complaining about him are not.....their argument is invalid. He's also written some of their best reunion material (dream of mirrors, montsegur, pilgrim, talisman, book of souls, time machine) 2. Sanctuary would be awesome to hear again. 3. Fans have been complaining about their new album tours since they played all AMOLAD live. If they don't wanna come to the big shows, let Maiden come to small clubs on the album tours so us die-hards can appreciate them. 4. I strangely think Bruce's voice sounds slightly better on Live at Donnington than on Live After Death, but the band sounds worse and horribly mixed on those 2 90s live albums than on Live After Death. 5. I think whoever wrote that they should tune down forgot to write "for blaze" when they wrote that. He would've benefited from them protecting hislower register rather than forcing him to sing songs out of his range. Cool topic! Props to James for all his cool ideas🤘🤘

I like Janick. He's a good guitarist and he's a showman having fun. To be fair to Janick the whole band doesn't take themselves too seriously. Steve and Adrian are the more serious members. Nicko appeared on Sooty 😂

Live After Death is fantastic, you have to travel back yo the 80s to underdstand for a lot of fans this was the first experience to hear or see Maiden live. No you tube, no Internet so seeing maiden on regular media was very limited. To me a 52 year old Maiden fan, Live After Death and the famous words scream for me long beach will always be my favorite live maiden release. While Seventh Son was my first live show in 1988 the Future Past Tour was excellent. Live music means its not the same as the studio recording and if you expect a live show to be the same as a studio release you wont get that at a maiden show.

As die hard fans we need to understand that Bruce was careless with his voice since TNOTB tour, you can actually hear the change in the Piece of Mind album. And all the non-stop touring didn't help him either. Of only he took more care of his voice we would have enjoyed even more epic vocals from him.

Many singers of his age really struggle but Bruce still has it. About Jannick, I saw him with Gillan and earlier with White Spirit, he was still the same, it’s just his style 😂.

My most unpopular opinions are that some of the VXI songs need more love and need to be played at least 1 more time, Final Frontier is one of their best Albums and En Vivo is their best live album

As a drummer, I miss the aggressive drum sound from rock in rio / flight 666. Nowadays the snare does not hit as hard imo. But that is just personel preference

Nice video, especially about playing different songs during a tour. Me and my son were speculating about a possible tour. Playing one song of each album so 17 songs being played. But before they start the tour they choose 2 songs from each album, a real classic and a song not being played for a while and switching it from concert to concert. For example the first album the choose Iron Maiden and remember tomorrow...... I will like that a lot.

I love Book of Souls Live Chapter 😢 it literally has the best sound in my opinion. Especially Nicko. Also, I do think down tuning a half step would be great for Bruce. Nowadays (sadly) some vocal lines are just too high and he sounds too strained, Alexander the Great live is a perfect example. The verses sound rough to me. Also, down tuning would make it fun to hear the songs in a slightly different way. Although downtuning would be a sort of band wagon thing to do. 27:34 “Stop being broke and get floor tickets” maaaaan that hurts. Of the 8 times I’ve seen them, only one was on the floor. However, every time was special, even the ones in the nosebleeds. Sometimes that is all people can afford. P.S. The Angel and the Gambler is a Solid 8/10, would love to see that song live. I would not love to see the crowd during that song however.

I love janick and I don’t care that people shun him honestly I like his scrappy play style it brings a different energy to the bluesy Adrian and the perfection clean of Dave and the stage presence is just fun it’s energy and it’s needed maiden has slowed down a lot and we need to just admire we’re getting this and less standing around akin to Metallica

Would love them to change the setlist up slightly each night like Metallica do, keep a core of songs and change out one or two each night, but realistically that’s never going to happen now! Also like the idea of a 00’s/10’s tour giving some more live time to AMOLAD, TFF and some others from BNW again instead of just rolling Wicker Man out every so often. I need to hear Talisman again and some deeper cuts from BNW! Finally agree with Bruce and the lyrics, seen them 11 times and each time he’s got at least one song wrong! He still sounds amazing though so can’t complain too much.

I am not so much in the full lyrics and the reddit phrases, because as a german is it not my normal language. 😉 But i grow since some years in speaking. I love the idea for a 2000/2010/2020 set list, if steph means it so. 6 albums 2 songs + 3 or 4 rarities. I think the light rig was this tour a bit of to much fixed at the roof. I love the moving rig at the LOTB or from the TFFT Chile/ F666 BRs. The triangles are going down and up, creat a mysthic scene. I think the TFPT needs a lightning rig with more horizontal elements, like a "flat" roof. So it looks like a triangle roof in the back, like a brick house. 😬 The blue "laser" frames at the roof are nice too, for sure. A bit more flex in the set would be cool. Maybe 20 fix songs, 13 of it are the base and songs like CIPWM or TETMD changes every night. The backdrops could be the album cover or a special back drop like the "cock pit" from this tour. Nothing special.

1)Iron Maiden should be in jail for not releasing an official live album / video from the AMOLAD tour of 2006.. 2)The History of Iron Maiden part 4 would be the most interesting of the "history of iron Maiden" releases, and they take way too much time releasing them..+ I doubt part 4 will ever see the light of day, and if it will, they will not be 100% honest about the members exiting the band, the relationships and the situations within the band at that time, to protect their "family image" nowadays. 3)History part 1 and 2 documentary interview setting was class, but whoever produced the format of the part 3 with the stupid effects- split screen - only interviewing the band and manager, leaving out crew members, producers, journalists etc should not produce the part 4 4)Iron Maiden were at their best live from 1999- 2010. Since then they kept losing something (which is normal, age wise).. Still fun to see live but not as great as they used to be.. 5)Iron Maiden were not a 4 piece when they recorded "The Soundhouse tapes" they had a second guitarist that they chose not to credit cause he left the band shortly after. (Paul Cairns I think was his name). 6)Iron Maiden were not 100% honest as to who wrote many of the songs from the first 3 albums... Many of the band members, that changed a lot in the early days, contributed in songs like "Charlotte The Harlot", "Sanctuary" etc but were never credited due to their departure from the band.. + Bruce's contributions on the "Number of the beast" could not be credited due to some legal issue with his former band. 7)Steve Harris doesn't have a good ear for production and singers, since choosing Bruce, he chose "Blaze" (totally not suitable for maiden, great at studio though) and the totally uninspiring Richard Taylor for his solo project... As for the production just check his work on the 1990s live albums and studio albums. 8)Tony Newton is useless. Just listen to "The Book of Souls Live Chapter", "Nights of the dead" production in comparison to "en Vivo" "rock in Rio"etc... . Also the live recordings' production, that they release on their YT channel since 2016 sound really bad. + His live stream mixing work is terrible (rock in rio 2013, rar 2014, Rock in rio 2019-2022) etc. Hence the Steve Harris doesn't have a good ear for production argument... He chose him... Phew that was a lot..

A criticism I would give to modern maiden is someone should go in and edit the songs before release. Some phrases go on too long imho. For example I feel there’s a great wee rock n roll track in the angel and the gambler waiting to come out but the repetition kills it. Another popular opinion is Beast would be a better album without Invaders, gangland or both and some think total eclipse would have improved it laugh my f@*ing arse off! Very popular opinion seemingly but just wrong 😊

I was listening to senjutsu last night and thought “man this sounds like a (good) sequel to book of souls the more I listen!” Also if you want iron maiden with bad timing, watch any blaze shows where they seems to play everything at a breakneck pace.

I have an unpopular opinion: I wish they would do a tour where they change up their stage show. Maybe more LED screens, maybe no LED screens but also no banners or typical stage set up, maybe in the round in the middle of the arena. They have a great show, but the bones of it are always the same. Like, come on, how about a thrust into the audience? Just something different.

Maiden were my favourite band from 1980/1988. . But albums from then onwards never matched the likes of NOTB ,piece of mind,powerslave etc. And I just dont like Bruces high end voice now. Even before his health scare. But that just me and my thoughts. I guess we always love the stuff we grew up with the best. Ive seen them 18 times live since 84 .And will always cherish my favourite maiden era.

Bruce’s voice is not the voice it was but his overall performance is the best it’s very been in his later years his ability to pull you in a narrate is so much better

I’ve had someone tell me that because Iron Maiden has a mascot it makes them less credible as being considered true serious musicians. I think there are musicians and music fans out there who take themselves way too seriously with regard to what they think music has to be about. Iron Maiden isn’t a serious bunch of guys and that’s what makes them even better in my opinion because of the fact that they are actually among the greatest musicians who have ever lived on this planet and I think thats actually what bothers some people. I love Iron Maiden for their songs and musicianship but I equally enjoy their stage presence and everything that also comes with Iron Maiden. I think it’s more about subverting people’s preconceived notions about what they think “real music” or “real musicians” are supposed to be.

My unpopular (but possibly popular?) opinion is that Maiden needs to chill with monetizing every aspect of their existence; trying to wring out every last dollar they can before they kick the bucket. The mobile game, the weird brand collaborations (Marvel? Really?), the expensive figurines, it's all too much. It's getting to the point of KISS. They'll slap a Maiden logo on just about anything...

The wrap around stage isn't great. Any design that obstructs the view of so many fans is just shite. They play massive outdoor stages and not use anything outside of the box. Lame. Anyone saying they wouldn't want them to rotate a few more songs into the set is taking crap. I struggle to believe that these fans that go to 10+ shows per tour wouldn't like to hear a few changes. It's probably just easier to agree with what they do as we know they'll never change that. Fear Of The Dark. All of the hardcore would probably like to hear something else for a change but with the reaction it gets.. you can see why they keep it in.

A band is as good as their deep cuts. Maiden could NOT play Fear of the Dark and Iron Maiden once in a while and still put on a GREAT show. But having said that: With every veteran band there are always the long time fans complaining about the songs they always play. Sweethearts, long time fans are not the center of the universe! There's plenty of people who had never seen them live and would love to hear the classics. And some times the band itself loves to play the classics. And about Janick: The band sounds even better with 3 guitars wheather Janick's haters want to accept it or not. Just listen to those harmonies in songs like The Trooper or Seventh son of a seventh son (the 2014 Rock am Ring version is INSANE). Plus Janick has prooven to be a great guitar player and composer, I'm glad they kept him. UP THE IRONS!
