I used to think "duct tape" was a called "duck tape" and it was called that because when you rip it it makes a noise vaguely like a duck quacking. Especially since there's a brand of duct tape who's mascot is a duck.

I have learned it was actually originally called duck tape because it was made of cotton duck cloth. "Duct tape" came into usage in the 50s and 60s as the tape had come to be commonly used to wrap air ducts and because its silver color resembled the color of tin and other metals that typically made up ductwork.

I actually know how to get sharpie off of a dry erase board, or any sort of smooth surface where the ink can't like soak in. Method 1: Go over it with a dry erase marker of the same color, and then quickly wipe it off. Of the segment is big, do it in parts. Method 2: Spray it with perfume, and wipe it off.
