We'll start with a general brief overview of the modes and how to understand each section. One of the Blending Modes that I have been experimenting with using more and more is Hard Light - especially in Gel Photography. It tends to blow the colors all over the place (in regard to luminosity) and you get some interesting results. Aside from Multiply/Screen/Overlay/Soft Light - what are your favorites to use?

One of the best or simply THE BEST EXPLANATIONS about blending modes of PS on KZfaq! So easy and so clear! So great to see how Author speaks with the words straigh from his Soul. Great video, David. Thank you for this video David. I always messed around with layer blending modes to achieve what I wanted but it was a lot of trial and error. The dot demonstration did it for me. Now I understand why things act the way they do. Thank you so much. YOU'RE DA MAN!!!!

Dude!! The dots are LIFE! I have used blending modes, but always in a click through the list to see what looks good with zero understanding of what was actually happening.. my mouse button and time management thank you!! A LOT!

Right on! I'm glad they are making an impact because the blending modes always deal with a mix of color and luminosity at varying levels of intensity - now you can follow that to know where to start. However I still recommend experimentation (much to the chagrin of your mouse button and time management ;) ) Thanks for watching!
