The Most Versatile Lens For The Ronin 4D
I've found the combination of the Ronin 4d and the DJI 17-28mm T3.0 power zoom lens to be a match made in heaven. The lens covers my primary focal range and works seamlessly with the way I use my Ronin 4D. No need for calibration, crisp but natural image quality, no rebalancing needed throughout the zoom range, very minimal focus breathing, there's a reason it now lives on my camera.

Man, the 4D has me going through. I specialize in Segway work and this is literally the most perfect option for me. I’ve been a Nikon (🤮) video shooter my whole life and am ready to make that big boy jump. Considering I just lost a 4th potential client thanks to the tawdry appeal of the Nikon image, I’m so ready to upgrade and start playing ball the way I should’ve been for years. With regards to the lens, do you have the autofocus/ backfocus problem? I heard some of the PZ glass acts a bit funky, but alas there’s been a ton of lemon-esque bug reports, so I’m just worried a 10K investment may bite me 😂

do you use filtration to soften the image? Can you screw a filter on?

Do you think I should just get the 8k or the 6k thinking of buying the 6k used. Comes with a lot of accessories for 13k you think it would be worth it ?

Depends on if you need 8k or not, it doesn’t make sense to spend extra money for 8k if you don’t need it

SO JUST GOT MY 4D AND I HAVE THE 17-28 BUT IT DOESNT SHOW ME THE APUTURE AND I CANT GET THE LENS TO ZOOM DO I NEED TO CALIBRATE IT ?

Nope! No calibration needed. The aperture should be on the top of screen and you zoom with the rocker on the top handle

No I color graded it, I just didn’t use a lut

That focal is wide angle. What do you use for mid - or telephoto lenses with that camera.

Very rarely am I not filming in this range, majority of shots in movies are filmed below 40mm but of course there are time where you'd want a medium or telephoto lens. I'll make more videos covering my go to's for other situations.

what about autofocus if you change from 18 to 28 mm. I heard that need recalibration every time. That's why did not buy it. Not too match information about ronin 4 d like sony cam. only advertising and review.

Something is wrong with your camera or lens if that’s the case. Also, are you on the current firmware? Not only do you not need to calibrate at all, you should be able to hold focus while you’re zooming
