Madam Halimat, With all due respect, I was only able to watch 10m of this before I gave up, irritated. You are right that “Ayinla” The movie, got some details wrong about your father but the plot of the movie was based off multiple accounts from people interviewed. Blame that on everyone that knew him but embellished their memory of him and those that only know of his music but claimed to know otherwise. You should thank the creators of “Ayinla” for shedding light on the life of a great artist. Go ahead, make another movie about your father, knock yourself out, we are all here for it. Importantly though, Ayinla wasn’t a sanitized man and any account to suggest otherwise is flat-ass false. I had the fortune to see him twice, growing up on the streets of Abeokuta. Once he was involved and part of a huge street fight, right after a performance he had just given at a private party in Igbore. Him, his entourage and a strew of uninvited area boys. I’ll never claim to know what the fight was about but I do remember someone being stabbed to death. The second time was on the day he died, I was 10years old, briefly hawking fufu inside the same bar in which he later stormed in to pick yet another fight with one of the regulars (or, maybe the man wasn’t a regular). I stood at a corner in the bar, frozen at what I was witnessing, I remember he did most of the yelling and the fist throwing, chasing the unfortunate man around the bar/beer parlor before the situation changed and he was knocked out with an object to his head. I doubt very much he was expecting the man to physically respond to his assault. I was subsequently kicked out of the bar but stayed close enough to watch the commotion that unfolded. I didn’t know who he was, who the other man and bar regulars were till a few minutes later when everyone started screaming. “Wọn ti pa Ayinla O" “Wọn ti pa Ayinla O" “Wọn ti pa Ayinla O" Again, my point is, I grew up to several ‘rumors’ of him involved in one fight or the other with street gangs, numerous husbands of women he had slept with, rival bands and musicians and I can go on and on…. Make your own biopic of him my dear but please don’t knock what’s been done by others. “Ayinla” is a good movie, for those that didn’t know him, it’s on Netflix and on the screen of audiences all over the world and that’s fantastic. I’ll keep any condemnation or opinion of how accurate the story is to myself and so should you. You are his daughter but you were very young and like me, you are not the only that has memorized all of his songs by heart plus I doubt if you had any intention to make a movie about him if “Ayinla” The movie hadn’t been released. #JustSayin

If you may ask me I think Halimat should be grateful to everyone that has ever done anything about her late father because for their sake that’s why his memory is kept alive and known to the new generation. Don’t forget that if you’re writing a story about a person you must not write 100percent of the stories exactly how it was, they have to add to make it acceptable. Be grateful that everyone is keeping your father’s memory alive.

Tunde Kelani should have sought the family's consent before making the movie and or add them in the movie and pay them loyalty for their father's story. Nigeria movie producers are not trustworthy. I remembered Baba Wande said he was not given anything for his movie Tolu wa nile. If Tunde Kelani has carried his family along, this lady would acknowledge same.

Due to the status of your father in the society, there will be many things that your father will be doing amongst his own team that will never come to light to his family. His family will know what he wants his wives and children even those we believed were his closest friends to know. You say what you knew about your father and his associate will said what they knew about him

My dear, your interview is good, but a little bit of humility could have made it greatly great. Alh Ayinla Omowura died some years back if I'm right, and nobody really thinks about him again. Suddenly, Mr Tunde Kilani pushed his memory up to social media through his trending cinema, and the whole Yoruba race embraced it because of his abilities and the personalities that were used in the movie. Also, the trending was very much due to the history attached to the late maestro's death. My dear name sake and daughter. Either the story he acted was genuine or canterfeit. You could have appreciated the effort of Tunde Kilani and his team for the beautiful memory of your father. You need not be rude in disredibility of his script and the story. He did his research before the production. What was your age during your late father's demise ? Like you rightly said, nobody was there to witness every moment and every spiritual attachment to his world and your mother inclusive. She wasn't at the scene of the event, too. Your words sounded too harsh in commenting on the film. You need not run his own transcripts down in the process of promoting or advertising your upcoming movie. That's not really nice. You're too young for that. You're a beginner, Start with love and sense of humor . Your judgment to that point in your interview is not fair at all. Mr Kilani can't produce such a great movie without the knowledge and concept of your elder siblings and Egba elders who are very close to your father and the entire family to confirm the story.. Anyway, try to be cool and apply courtesy in your career, and you're unstoppable to greater heights than your father in Jesus Mighty Name amen 🙏 Remain loved my darling ❤♥❤

A nice new perspective on the Apala maestro. Nice she is also contemplating a movie on the man, it would give a new meaning to the Ayinla essence. But not nice to condemn existing works / projects on the man. Insinuating that only Ayinla's family could tell a credible story on him is like saying you can't write a true story on a historical figure except you share his bloodline. Where would that leave art and scholarship?

Gratitude first to the conveners for the commercialisation of an existing story line. Secondly, the gap left by the lack of proper education, enlightenment, exposure or family cohesion is greatly exhibited. If there was, a legal team should be dealing with polygrams records at a global level for royalities. The local contracts can also be looked at and the appointed musical rights collection society in Nigeria ( MCSN) should be in the family's corner for the battle. Disparaging the efforts of someone like Tunde Kilani is out of it. The Ayinla brand is seen as an asset of the Egbas that the direct beneficiaries are not milking that underscores the common prayer of not labouring in vain.

Your video post about the precarious life of "Alhaji Agba, Egunmogaji" may be very compelling esp. the appetite to have 13+ women, and numerous children. From your interview with Madam Ramotu, the so-called last wife of Alhaji Ayinla Omowura, there are too many conflicting stories. However, if you have any sense of dignity and Yoruba culture, you'll mkkjunderstand the implications of sharing confusing story around the death of Ayinla Omowura. Back in 1978, he gracefully performed his magical & wonderful music at my late grandmother burial occasion, actually in Ibadan Oyo State. So please exercise some intellijgence in your posting before you find yourself in some life-ruin legal battles.v

Your family had almost 40 years to tell Ayinla story but you didn’t, some fans decided to do it with the permission of the family and they made plenty money and fame with it now you are trying to tell us they did rubbish and you’ll do a more appropriate one soon? Get this woman off my screen she’s saying rubbish
