Coneness While this comment was gaining likes, not many people saw it. Let’s say 5 likes = 30 people have seen it. And not any of those 30 wanted to reply. Now it has ~600 likes (let’s just say 600) and you would think: Ahah! 600 likes = 3600 people saw it. Working from my previous maths. But it’s not linear (in most cases). From those 600 likes, the comment is pushed upwards and then more people see it than it used to get seen. Some people reply but don’t like. So from those 600 likes, 10,000 people would have seen it. And out of those people, it has a more chance of getting a reply out. [These are not real figures and were made for demonstration purposes]

@@BlackDawnYaoiLover i wasn't talking about the eraser... well, i guess i kind of am? what id do is sketch in grey, ouline with the curve tool with black, make the eraser color the sketch gray, cut the image making sure its set in transparent, fill the grey to white, and paste it back in. voila, sketch gone and black remains. for outlines anyway. outlining parts of an image with different colors help erase things away easily too, like a face blue, hair red, and the red cut off from the blue i bucket tool away XD did this stuff for years. not much anymore!

Actually there is a way to sketch :D !! You sketch for example with green, then you draw your lineart with black, then you select the eraser and set the first color as green and the second as white - then with Rightclick (!!) you can erase only the green sketch and the Black lineart will stay! Yeeey :))

This just shows that a true artist isn't limited by the tools available. Like a photographer isn't limited by their camera or a musician by their instrument. I always hate it when people say you must have a great instrument/camera/software etc. Does it make them better, absolutely! But I wish people recognize the talent of the person. Jazza might've been frustrated using MSpaint, but he still created amazing art with the limitations in place. This, to me, means he's a great artist.

@@bathrobe6533 I draw with a mouse right now. I used to use my laptop's trackpad, much easier, but... not anymore... Anyway, I'm basically wavering on whether I should get a basic drawing pad with simple pressure sensitivity or save up and get something good.

@@Zaire82 i would say you should save up. it's better to go with something good rather than buying something cheap then spending more money to get something good. but i mean, you can buy something cheap and see how you like it, and not dislike it and "waste" your money on something good. but drawing tablets are very good so i highly doubt you will not like using the tablet to draw

I remember that as a kid I spent days on the original MS paint working on a sort of forest scene (which consisted of about one tree) with a moose, an owl, a rabbit, and a turtle. I was so proud of it and I’m almost positive it’s still on one of my flash drives somewhere

Try improving your drawings without drawing on a gacha base before you get a drawing tablet to work on. You would find that you actually improve your art more than drawing over those bases and calling them your 'art'. You have to improve first before you actually start to find your specific art pattern and style.

It's more that the original Paint wasn't really made with modern screens in mind so it looks super small on larger computer screens that are common today.

I think ms paint works best if you work like it's traditional media. You don't have layers on paper either. I'm going to look up ms paint speedart videos now.

@@gagne6928 what do you mean can't zoom in enough? You can literally work pixel by pixel..... also, as was mentioned in this comment, you can't zoom in on traditional media either.... at least I don't see any artists carrying around magnifying glasses to make a painting...
