Maria Bello is a great actress too, but I agree. Rachel Weisz is Eve. the lampshade at the beginning of the third movie was kinda funny tho ("I feel like she was an entirely different person")

Evelyn is the epitome of a well written badass female character that didn’t put too much emphasis on the fact that she was a woman👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻the mummy 1 and 2 r my favorite movies everrrr and that scene where ricks about to get jumped and her and Jonathan just take them out like HI YES THATS MY FAVE BROTHER SISTER DUO! Ardeth I have to say is my favorite character in the first 2 films partly because I love his actor and he’s just so amazing just like in the animated series anyone remember that?!

Hollywood needs more power couples like the O'Connells. Tall brash American guy head over heels in love/meets his match in a confident English heroine is a powerful duo. Personally I had my money on Disney capitalizing the shiz out of this with driver/ridley in the newest star wars but then they killed him off for no reason and really robbed her of any of her own self agency in the 3rd film. Sigh. Don't know what the hell they were thinking. Off to watch The Mummy again

This character proves how women doesn't need to act and look like a man to appear strong. She saved the male hero's ass multiple times during the series without having to humiliate him. Filmmakers didn't need to put other characters down, they make her raise above them by her own. Rachel Weisz convincingly played a scientist, a warrior, a queen, and a mom, at the same time, absolutely superb.

In the first film Imhotep is the bad guy. But by the end of the film you kinda feel sorry for him. He did it all for a woman he loved but in the end she betrayed him.

Just like all great female characters, Eve starts off as a simple ordinary woman and then has to overcome the life she lives and adapt to protect herself and the people she loves. Eve, Ripley, Sarah Conner, and other badass female characters all share this great trait and they do it all without making it obvious. That's what makes a great female character. Not pushing some agenda, not putting other male characters down while putting themselves higher just because they are a women and having flaws but learning to overcome those flaws through trial and error.
