There was a definitive Muppets figures line before Diamond Select, it was made by the now defunct Palisades. Made in 2002 to 2006, I believe. Excuse the plug but I made a short video on my channel showing off my collection of said figures. But yeah, the Palisades line had a much bigger character line. As excited as I was that there was a another line of Muppet figures, I knew the line wouldn’t include such characters as Dr. Phil Van Neuter, Muppets Tonight host Clifford, the “fifth Beatle” of Electric Mayhem trumpet player Lips, and even the creator himself Jim Henson, variants of characters (wearing tux’s, dressed as heroes all and such) and play sets. But the Diamond Select is great too. I wanted to collect them as well and I did, but I’ve given some or sold most, only Robin (which is displayed with my Palisades collection) and Statler and Waldorf (displayed with Balcony at desk at work) remind. But I have to admit after watching this I’m debating on re hunting them.

Yes, they definitely had a much larger selection of characters. I have a few of the Palisades and if I started collecting them earlier on, I might have stuck with that line but I just came across more of the DS ones in my travels. Definitely a much more affordable collection to complete as well lol. Too many alternate versions in the Palisades, I never would have completed that one. You do have a nice collection though, kudos! That back stage section is nice 👍. Thanks for watching!

@@TheToyShelf Thanks very much for checking it out bro. Yeah, the line is pretty pricey these days, I do love the deep character line though. But actually, another reason I’m debating on buying the DS line is because of that back stage play set. They’re actually a better scale than the Palisades figures. It’s probably the most prized piece in my collection. Again thanks for viewing.

Great video, but you’re missing a few details about the characters: Scooter - not Skeeter. She’s his twin from Muppet Babies. Robin is Kermit’s nephew, not son. There are two member’s of The Electric Mayhem Diamond has yet to produce - Dr. Teeth and Zoot. Otherwise you have the entire lineup.

Thank you! They were originally display cases for a boutique but the owner couldn't take them when moving locations. Kijiji and similar buy and sell pages usually have something close. We would probably have more if we had space.

I’m pretty confident that he is not fragile. I just played with him a bit and I moved all of his joint and limbs and put him in several poses. Still seems good as new. He has even survived a few falls.
