An art installation comprised of 98 speakers, chairs, stands, and a gramaphone horn. This is a 5 minute excerpt from a 30 minute piece.
This installation was curated by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev for the 16th Biennale of Sydney and made possible with the generous support of Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary, Vienna, Freunde Guter Musik e.V. Berlin, The Canada Council, and Bowers & Wilkins Speakers.

I just saw this at the AGA today. Before today I had seen one piece of art that was perfect. I left having experienced my second. It was perfect. The moving, the music, the sound, the places it took me. Loved it.

Experienced this in Inhotim way back in 2014 and I always come back to this video. I think this particular part -- specially hearing it while surrounded by the speakers/crows, is a experience I'll remember forever.

Amazing work. I went to the Hamburger Banhoff last Thursday, and listened to The Murder of Crows three times. Only three, because I had to go back ;_; Beautiful, breathtaking piece.

Wow! I have no words to describe how amazing this sounds live. I just went yesterday and checked up your art in MARCO. I took my kids to watch this and both my daughter and I were totally amazed by your installment. Greetings from Monterrey, Mexico.

Cardiff, I have no words to thank you enough for your kindness and attention! I was already your fan, but now I'm more than that! Your work is beautiful and very sensitive! Thank you so much for your replies and for your work itself!

This is my favourite thing in the whole world. Seen it three times now at the AGA and seeing it again before it leaves in a couple weeks. And I agree with MysteryGuitaristX it reminded me of Godspeed when I first saw it too!

As did I, what did you think of the Storm Room, Goya prints, Karsh, and Dega? It was amazing to see those charcoal drawings and the "Little Dancer" but, Goya and this installation stood out to me- such a power I have never quite experienced at the small galleries I have gone to prior. The smell of the Storm Room was fantastic.

Tem uma galeria em Inhotim com essa ambientação. A experiência de sentar em uma dessas cadeiras enquanto a peça toca é maravilhosa.

+Cardiff Miller Wow! I was not expecting your reply. Thank you so much! I really love the final lullaby that veers into doggerel: "Crows did fly / through the sky / I hear their cries / strange lullaby / close your eyes and try to sleep." It's a beautiful song!

If you can find the catalogue called Murder of Crows (published by Hatje Cantz in Germany and the Edmonton Art Gallery in Canada) there is a DVD documentation of the complete installation which also includes the song at the end. At some point I will upload a clip of the piece featuring the lullaby only... but I promised this 3 years ago! Thanks for your interest.
