You know what hurts the most? Is that Jake couldn't even explain himself

I feel like this hurt Zander so much, more than he lets on. They started calling each other names, like Jake calling him a King of Grapes or something in that direction and just like some friendly banter without any tension. Zander took the longest to fully accept Jake into the club, although pretty much everyone (except maybe Hailey) accepted him right away while he took some time to get warmed up to the idea of Jake being in the music club. After finally trusting him to be in this sort of relaxed state around him and trusting him after having your suspicions about his motivs it must've really hurt to be proven right after all: that he is a jerk. (Now ofcourse that isn't true, as Jake didn't get the change to explain himself.) And not only that, but he also saw Hailey grow closer to Jake over time. And as we know he's very protective towards her. He did think they were gonna announce that they were dating so it meant he fully realized that they grew very close in the time they were friends. So mixed with his own hurt and his sympathy for Hailey that she was so heartbroken (Jake pulled her out of her shell and they were gonna perform a duet together even though she has terrible stage fright, and then hearing him say such terrible things about the club who grew to be her family, INCLUDING Jake must've been terrible for her. It was never confirmed if she had feelings for Jake but it's also very clear she's very fond of him) must've been so much for Zander. I just thought of this and I feel like it's something that's a little overlooked, or I just haven't seen people talk about it this much. I hope this makes sense and I'd love to hear other people's thoughts about this :)

honestly music freaks is really good. finding a group of friends after having a lot of anxiety from past bullying experiences, only to find out their as bad as the other bullies really sucks. you want to confront them, but their also your friends. so your just forced to sit and watch and go along with it. this is very realistic for a lot of peoples experiences, including mine.

Something I don't think a lot of people realize, is that people can have attachment issues. Which is why it's be so hard for Jake to leave the Jomies. They were the people who were there for him when he was completely alone in the beginning of high school. I'm pretty sure he knew what they were doing was bad, but because they were the only people he had, he excused it and even started picking it up. Which is why when he started to actually feel like the music club was his family, his friendship with the Jomies was well already grown too deep into his head. Which caused him a major amount of pressure It's not only Jake's fault guys, sure he was already told about the red flags but the relationship was already too developed for him to leave. Sure you can be mad at Jake for being oblivious and dumb, but you also need to understand why this all happened in the first place. Both sides pressured him into leaving the other group, and in the end he said something not so great in the heat of the moment because of all the stress Now that I've said that, I think everyone can agree that Sean will be the medium here. When they showed all their faces near the end of the song, he didn't just look disappointed but I feel he's empathetic towards Jake since he most definitely knows how the pressure and stress of having to pick a side can be due to his parents

jake is probably one of the most complex and relatable characters ever made. the people he surrounds himself with are both good AND bad for his sake. Drew and his crew are manipulating him while the music club doesn’t know if they could put they’re full trust in him. jake doesnt have a place where he could just be. with the music club he was himself and happy, but drew and his friends couldn’t seem to understand that.

The amounts of times I yelled at the screen with this. Goddam i feel so bad for Jake 😭😭😭 This episode was amazing Rosy, you never disappoint omg.

It's clear that Drew cares about Jake, but he's manipulating him in order to keep him close. The rest of his friends aren't any better since they're gaslighting him, convincing him that he's being used when he's in fact NOT. Jake's incapability to stand up for himself is understandable since he never really had any friends while growing up, and Drew was the first one that made him feel like he belonged, even if he had to keep his passion for singing a secret. Hailey and the others are the first people that make Jake feel that being himself is okay, and that feeling is new to him, since not even Drew could make him feel that. I wonder when will Jake finally snap at Drew. After what happend in the ending in this episode I think he'll do it soon, and I'm really excited to see Drew's reaction, and whetever he'll become a better friend or push Jake away.

I feel so bad for Jake, Hailey should've never told him to pick between his friends, the music club won't even listen to him, and if they don't want to it means they didn't trust him that much anyway. On the other side, I thought Drew was actually getting better (correcting himself by saying "music club" instead of freaks) but they're so toxic right now, manipulating him and all... The worse is filming him and send it to Hailey knowing how it will affect Jake.... I hope they both realize their mistakes and try to fix it and I kinda wish Jake would give all of them the cold shoulder for a few days, not accepting the apologie right away would feel more fair. I don't understand why are people saying The Music Club is the one to blame. Jake and his other friends *constantly* bullied The Music Club, which of course bothers them. Would you really like your best friend who you see as a family be a close friend with someone who bullied you? Jake's perspective is that he wants to be cool with everyone, but that's really impossible on this cruel world. You gotta understand both perspectives. Hailey and others aren't the one to blame, just as y'all forgive Jake for letting his anger control him and say such cruel things, you gotta understand Hailey's and others sadness control them. Hailey even apologized for telling Jake to decide, even though she had right to. Imagine if you heard someone say such cruel things to you, someone you think is close to you, you wouldn't really stay calm. Now, Jake was literally bullied by people with same personality traits as his "friends", which not helped, and his "friends" manipulated him to make a choice by saying things that could be logical if The Music Club weren't his true friends, but they are, which made him say such harsh things. They Manipulated him into thinking such bad things, but look closely, just as The Music Club didn't listen to him when they heard that stupid record, he didn't even bother asking them when his "friends" told him what they want him to believe about them. Overall, Drew is not his friend. He did couple of things that seem good, but that's what manipulative people do: make you think they're a good person.

The last part hit hard. I must say that the music group was too shocked and terrified to give Jake another chance and I could see that nobody in the group could keep calm except for Sean. The ending also shows how much Hailey and the others trusted Jake. It PROVES that Hailey actually had feelings for Jake. But out of all that I'm quite curious to know what Jake would do to get back in the musical club and to gain their trust back.

I love how characters like Liam and Henry are portrayed as mean “bullies” at times but also have moments that show them in a good light because they’re human. Usually stories don’t do that I’d assume because they don’t want the viewers to sympathize with antagonists but idk I feel like this makes them so much more real and less one-dimensional (and they’re not exactly antagonists either.) Just shows that they don’t really mean to be that way

Honestly I feel bad for Jake. Choosing between people is really hard. Especially when they both have been there for him. Oh my God, this was hard to watch. Seeing Jake being peer pressured and forced to pick a side between people that he genuinely loves, manipulated and misunderstood nonetheless. Rosy made us feel the uncomfortable and anxious feeling, the empathy we have for the main character, and the ability to put the viewers into Jake's shoes is an outstanding move! Watching the music club turn their back against him, really hits hard. Can't wait for the next episode! you've come so far , this has been a wonderful joy to watch , and seeing it grow so much was and still is awesome! Props to the whole team ❤

the way Jake's expression during the last scene shows him going from shocked to letting it all sink it. He's lost his friends, his home, and the place where he felt like he actually belonged. He lost the only people who actually understood him. Everything slipped out of his hands and he could do absolutely nothing to save it. The fact you could tell all that from just the expression itself is extraordinary. Well done, Rosy, this episode was both emotional, and lovely. 👏 👏 👏

This wasn’t Jake’s fault. The Music Club and the Jomies both put a major amount of pressure on Jake to choose a side. They really only cared about how it would affect them and not Jake. The Club saw that if Jake was no longer friends with Drew and the gang that they would be mostly free of Drew’s constant harassment and would be able to dedicate more focus to the Competition. The Jomies saw that if Jake stuck with them, they wouldn’t have to worry about him suddenly switching sides or becoming “a music freak” and ditching them. Neither doesn’t realize how this is affecting Jake, and the amount of pressure and stress he feels building on him self. Jake has never been good at interfering, because of how alone and bullied he was growing up. Too me, someone needs to check in on Jake, and both sides owe him a major apology. Jake was stuck in the middle and wasn’t able to get out of it, and though both sides thought he could be just stop it all and create peace, they didn’t realize how damaging that would be for Jake. Jake is wrongly in the middle and someone (The Music Club) needs to help him get out of it.

However the circumstances of how things are right now makes it hard for him to do that. Every single day Jake is forced into picking one or the other completly ignoring the third option. With Jakes original friendgroup, They have issues.... But they can be fixed by something called ✨communication✨... All Jake has to do is open his damn mouth and tell his friends to CHILL. He needs to tell them to stop harassing his other friends. He needs to open up more to them cause they think Jake is only in the club for Daisy and absolutley hates the club memebers. However that's not the case and Jake NEEDS to put his foot down with his friends and tell them to stop peer pressuring and persuading him into doing things he'll later regret(we call this foreshadowing 🙃). The Fact that the ending is very similar to the Comic “Yandere Luke” gives me the vibe that Daisy would be the beacon of hope next episode trying to fix everything by asking Sean for help, also i love how the lyrics in Hailey’s song specifically talks about love and how she feels betrayed portrays how she was basically showing much emotions to Jake in episode 7? i think it was Episode 7 than any episodes, but anyways i think that’s my theory.

THE ENDING ALMOST MADE ME CRY😭😭

I get that what his friends did was bad, but through their eyes, they see as Jake joining the competition JUST for Daisy, they dont know he likes to sing. So when they hear how Daisy is dating , plus their already hate for the music club, they deem Jake being in the club as not nesesarry, and since Jake keeps reminding them that "its just for Daisy" , "yeah after the competition is done im out" and him always agreeing that they are "freaks" they think theire doing a favour to Jake, since Daisy clearly isnt interested. Obviously, they do wanna cause some coleteral damage, since they dont like the club, so they use such a distructive method, and they didnt know Jake actually likes singing. Also, Jake hasnt been hanging out with them at all, and they see it as thr music club taking him away from them-another reason to hate them. AND also when they heard hes also doing it for Hailey and singing with her, is more annoying since, again, they hate the music club, which Hailey is a part of. In conlusion, they did not do a good thing, no no no, but since they already were bullying them, and already hating them, destroying them didnt seem too much, and since they saw it as Jake ONLY doing it for Daisy, they couldnt have known. Also, lets not forget, although they did provoke him, Jake DID say all those things, making them even more sure that he still doesnt like them and Hailey . I think that Sean will make them get Jake back in the club. He was pretty much quiet, and Jake wanted to give him laptopt and helped him to find his laptop. And he also knows that Jake was hiding from his friends, why would he hide if he just trash talks about them?And you can see how everyone looked mad but he looked um, kinda normal?

For anyone wondering how Zoey got the recording, watch her scenes attentively. Notice anything different than normal? Zoeys phone is tucked into her pocket, she’s secretly recording. Even more evidence proves this, at 17:50 where after looking at drew, she looks at her phone and smirks. This shows she knows she just got what she needed.

I feel so bad for what Jake is going through, he's being crushed by pressure of having to pick a side which really sucks, and then he gets tricked by his "friends" and says some bad stuff about his club. Even though he might know that his "friends" are bad people, it's hard to let go because you've been friends with them for such a long time and you had good moments with them

I feel bad for Jake, it must be hard constantly thinking "is what I'm doing wrong, no it's right, but is it?" This guy's mind is constantly at conflict, and I think he just needs to give some time off from both groups, and when he's ready, make up his mind. I personally think he should be with Drew's group, not for any bad reasons, but like they became friends with him despite knowing that he was considered a "weirdo" by almost everyone is middle school. There must be a reason they don't like the music club, if they accepted Jake but not them. Either way bullying isn't a good way to do that, and what they did to Jake isn't right either, but thanks to this situation we can really see if the music genuinely like Jake or were only laughing with him in order for him to use his talent of singing. If Jake could accept Hailey at her worse, why can't she? The music club, wow, they really said, "yup, one mistake and your done." Like Jake accepted all of them, despite their flaws, but him saying things because he wasn't in the right mindset, got this guy kicked out in split seconds. And it seemed that Zander probs never even liked Jake from the start if he's now saying "that he was right" about Jake being a "bad person". For the fact they didn't even think twice that this could be Drew's doing, really goes to show how much they actually trusted Jake, if they trusted him they would have atleast been like " Jake would never say that" but nope, they shouted at him and even slapped him in the face and kicked him out. Jake isn't perfect aswell, he's gonna have some flaws too, or did they just assume since he helped them with their flaws he wouldn't have any, which is where the whole "Hailey is using you to get over her stage fright" comes to show, they only laughed and smiled with Jake because they knew he was a good singer, but before they knew that, they didn't like him one bit. But in Drew's case, he liked Jake for him, even though he was bullied, he still accepted Jake and genuinely seemed happy hanging out with him, and got jelous that he's now hanging out with people who didn't even like him in the first place. I'm not saying what Drew did was right, but like this really comes to show how much the music club actually liked Jake. This episode was really good tbh, keep up the good work rosy! In that one scene at Drew's house there was two signs of gaslighting. One is turning loved ones against you, the second is making you rely on them with manipulation. Which Drew did by defending him against the bullies who bullied Jake and making him not an outcast anymore. Then he praised Jake.

Jakes character development is amazing

This episode was by far the most emotional and well written I’ve ever seen throughout the whole series. I feel bad for Jake yet I honestly think he deserved it?… Jake was forced to choose sides and yet still snapped after being under so much pressure by his friends and the music club. Honestly, they should’ve trusted him more from the beginning and just let him talk. I get that it’s a lot to take in at first but he was under a lot of pressure and just snapped. The people who sent it to the music club didn’t need to send it to them, Jake was just venting, you can’t share a person’s vent without permission.
