Absolutely! This is from Broadway Backwards ... a showcase where the performers choose songs that can be interpreted from a gay person's perspective. A. Rannells totally SELLS this song, as always! He is brilliant.

I know he's around when the sky and the ground started ringing I know that he's near by the thunder I hear in advance His words, his words alone are the words that can start my heart singing And his is the only music that makes me dance He'll sleep and he'll rise, in the light of two eyes that adore him Bore him it might, but he won't leave my sight for a glance In every way, every day, I need less of myself and need more him, more him 'Cause his is the only music that makes me dance Bore him it might, but he won't leave my sight for a glance In every way, every day, I need less of myself and I need more him, more him 'Cause his is the only music that makes me dance Yes his is the only music that makes me dance

Hopefully, if it is true Ryan Murphy is bringing a revival of "Funny Girl" to Broadway, this song will be back in the score.

Well, I don't really believe in God. ... but this performance and Andrew's amazing voice and artistry DOES make me believe in God. Breathtaking performance. Andrew's incredible talent has actually helped me through some very difficult times, recently. ... maybe there is a God? And his gift to us is recognizing Beauty in this world. And for me, that is music.

Who's hatin'? What's to hate?! He really is brilliant. Loved him in JERSEY BOYS, in BOOK OF MORMON--heck, I even came to sort of love THE NEW NORMAL. It'll be interesting to see what he does next, & down the line. He's pretty quick-witted too. Bravo.

I think the less than ideal sound quality (accompanying the less than ideal picture) is what makes you think that. I've no doubt that, live, this sounded phenomenal. I love it even like this, but he definitely needs to perform this & have it filmed/recorded w. best technology. To be clear, this is NOT a dig at toni7babe, to whom I'm very grateful f. this piece!

As great as My Man was as the finale to the film, it’s a shame that this fabulous song was omitted. I would have loved to have seen Barbra sing it circa 1967-1968. Andrew does a fantastic job. Someone should mount a gay version of Funny Boy.

It's a "spread" sound, which, although it can't be changed, it can be handled with proper material....other than that, there are some pitch problems that can be dealt with to improve the performance.

Don't get me wrong, Andrew Rannell's voice is phenomenal. But anyone else think he should have taken it down a bit (even half a step), so it wouldn't be so forced on those top notes towards the end?

The producer and the director were business-oriented when they chose "My man", knowing full well that "The music", with its complex structure, cockamamy lyrics and difficult octave jumps, was a song no one in the world other than Streisand could sing, whereas "My man", with its simple structure and easy to follow melody, could impinge on the public's mind the same way a "Moon river" or a "The sound of silence" did.

Well, "My Man" was also Fanny Brice's most famous song. It made sense to include it in the movie as they had already added "I'd Rather Be Blue," and "Second Hand Rose," two other songs she was known for.

Sorry to spoil the party, but while this is a beautiful song, Rannells’ version is unlistenable. I mean, he’s loud but no quality to his voice at all. If you really want to hear the song, look for Judy Garland’s version from the Palladium (on KZfaq).

No one can come close to the original recording. In fact, I don't think streisand gave as good a performance on stage that she had recorded on the obc album.

he needs to take that clothes pin off his nose and get rid off that god awful whiney through the nose sound and open his pipes up, because he does he a pretty good set of pipes, just some bad training. And yes he is adorable eye candy.
