Plosives are way too prominent on both mics. Consider installing the SM7B Foam windscreen on the MV7/MV7X to remove the problem entirely. They fit on the latter mics without issue.

Which recording program did you use? And what did you give EQ for the recording editing? The sound quality recorded in the video is very, very excellent. Please tell me. crying 녹음프로그램은 어떤걸 사용하셨나요? 그리고 녹음 편집의 EQ는 뭘 주셨나요? 영상에 녹음된 음질이 너무 너무 너무 우수합니다. 좀 알려주세요 ㅠㅠ

It is said that xlr performance of MV7x is superior to MV7 due to (probably) having lower impedance (250 vs 320 @ 1khz). Would you comment on that? Did you notice it? It would be great to hear your comment on that even if that you left it out on this vid on purpose. (i don't know if you did :) ) Thanks!

Hi Ohzman thanks for your comment. I did a live unboxing of the mv7x which is available here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mdWoo5SLrdzddo0.html. I share this because I struggled to hear a difference between the two mics (mv7 and the mv7x) and the audience struggled to hear it too. My conclusion was that the two mics are the same with the only major difference being they removed all USB components from the mv7x to make it cheaper. The other thing I'll note is that in the longer live video the comparison was done with a cloud lifter in the mv7 and no cloud lifter in the mv7x which meant I did have to adjust the gain higher in the x which just makes sense and still heard no difference. Mv7x with an audient evo4 would be good enough, gain wise? I'm looking at getting an XLR setup. I like how the evo4 has a mute and isn't that expensive. Ty for the video.

Thanks for your comment, I'm unfamiliar with the evo4 but as long as it's an audio interface with phantom power that takes xlr it should work. The MV7X doesn't require a lot of gain which makes it a great option. What are you using it for?

Dang I bought the mv7 at launch. On the bright side I actually have been using the USB, though I'm getting my first audio interface soon as soon as it ships, the VOLT 176.

My initial answer is No because the Audio Software connects to the mic over USB. I've sent a message to Shure to confirm this for you and i'll comemnt again once I hear back from them. Thanks for your support!

Just confirmed with Shure the MV7X is NOT compatible with the Motiv App or Audio Software.

Yes the software is designed for USB.

Hi. I just picked up the MV7 as a second/travel mic but I'm not able to get the gains where I need them to be (-6 to--3 dB). Audio pros here have advised that I'd need to install/use an inline mic preamp to get my gains anywhere close to the condenser mic in my booth. With the MV7X connecting straight to my interface (with phantom 48V) would I still need to purchase/install an inline preamp? Thanks!

Thanks so much for the comment and support of the channel. I hate to give a vague response but it depends on the interface... I've used he MV7 and MV7X with 3 different Interfaces and didn't need a preamp on the RodeCaster Pro but needed on my M-Audio Solo. Hope that helps, please let me know how it goes.

@@kirkrnugent Thanks for the quick reply. My normal booth set-up is an AT4040 with the Focusrite Scarlett Solo interface. Not sure it matters for this question but I'm using Adobe Audition (no plug-ins at this point). I started looking at the MV7 as a potential travel mic. It was recommended because of the easy USB connect and headphone jack. My issue is that I am recording audiobooks and the MV7 without a pre-amp doesn't get me the gains I need. It's a pricey mic and adding on a preamp to it get my recording numbers where I need them to be, broke the bank. (I've returned the MV7 while I look at my other options). I'm okay with packing the Scarlett for a trip, if necessary. It's not big and it'll get my numbers where they need to be. Will the Scarlett Solo be enough of an interface for the MV7X by itself, or will it need more add-ons? Or is there a different mic out there to fit my travel needs? Thanks.

Yes I script and edit them myself but I have a guy who adds text, callouts, and animations once i've put it all together. Thanks so much we've been working to strike a better balance.

I believe that has XLR but since I don't have one I can't say for sure but as long as it takes an XLR connection it should work fine. Thanks for the question!

Hi, I want to record my written poetry professionally. Suggest me a good audio interface and microphone. But my room is not sound proof. The sound from outside comes inside our room.

@@YSK_IS_HIM in that case I think the Shure MV7 or MV7X are great options. Really made for podcasters and gamers. If you don't have an XLR audio interface get the MV7.

I believe the MV7 has clipping protection when used as a USB mic. Neither mic when used as XLR has any functionality everything is done on your audio interface. Thanks for the comment and support of the channel!
