Without tools to help us read raw hex dumps, it would be incredibly difficult and time consuming to parse when you don't even know what the stream contains. How are you even supposed to find headers in a random stream like that? Assuming you even find the header, how easy do you think it will be to determine what the data is? There are literally thousands of different possible headers describing what it could be. Is it a pcap with network traffic? Is it a pk file containing screenshots? Is it a straight mem dump? Is it an arbitrary binary? Thousands of possibilities are way too much to go through without a tool
