Elemental Gimmick Gear is a very unique and interesting Action RPG and yet another hidden gem for the Dreamcast.

That character is instantly iconic, the movie intro and music in the game is really good made we want to keep playing. This game sells for crazy prices now 😅

It's so crazy how this game sat in bargain bins, brand new for $5 for YEARS after the Dreamcast's discontinuation. It's a cool game and I'm happy to have a copy. - For anyone wanting these Dreamcast games, I would replace a DC disc drive with the ability to play the games from a SD card OR I would just emulate them (the Xbox Series consoles are great for emulating or just emulate on PC). It's a shame games like these don't get rereleases.

I think at this point I'm more surprised when something *isn't* at least partially inspired by Moebius, his influence has spread far and wide, and I always love seeing works like EGG that really wear his influence so proudly on their sleeves

I'm glad you discussed the inspiration for the art style in this game because I think it's so striking and interesting to look at. They did a really great job!

I had never drawn the parallels between the art influences in this game and panzer dragoon before, good stuff

I love the graphics. You can really see that the project was originally a Saturn game. Should really give it a good play.

I found out about EGG *years* after it's release, sort of found it by accident too. I wondered how such a great game slipped past me like that, and there's been many other games as well, discovered after enough digging. These days, no matter what people think of emulation, you gotta appreciate how many fan translations there are. Some never came to the US, and unless you know Japanese then good luck. So what i mean is, I'm glad i missed it, and found it late. So now i can enjoy these games for the first time. Hopefully EGG gets a follow up some day, and if it's possible, a remaster would be nice. As long as it keeps these graphics intact and everything is done respectfully of the original. Now, if we could get an English fan translation for the Japanese version of Blue Stinger.

Had this as an early Dreamcast collector. I have never played anything that came close to the feel and aesthetic. Great video!

I found your channel thanks to the recent DCJY episode, and I’m so glad I did-I really enjoyed how well you blend being laidback and still really informative. I’m looking forward to watching more, I hope the channel keeps growing!

If i remember right, i think you can put the Dreamcast disc in your pc and there was a comic or something on the disc you could access. It's been a long time, i should dig out my copy and look again... Thanks for the video, i always loved this game to but it seemed like a cult classic.

Thanks to your videos (and the ability to burn whatever dreamcast game I want to a cd rom) I've been able to enjoy this game on a deeper level. My favorite thing about this game is how everyone looks like they're having a seizure anytime they hit a staircase. Great video mate!

This game definitely looks like a Saturn game! Even though being on Dreamcast obviously helped it in some ways, I feel like it would have potentially been a bigger standout if it was released on the Saturn as intended. Most people were not really interested in 2D games for the Dreamcast at the time. It was the same problem titles like Mischief Makers had on the N64.

I'd have to agree with you there! Everybody (self included) got very snobby about 3D being better than 2D back around the early 2000s

I played 30 minutes of this and got frustrated and a bit bored. But it looks so amazing - it has an allure I can't quite describe - can any fans talk me into beating it?! What is the play time, roughly?
@DreamcastEnjoyer
@DreamcastEnjoyer 11 ай бұрын
Howlongtobeat.com puts it at around 12-13 hours I think, which is about right. I'd definitely say give it a second chance as it took me 3 tries to properly get into it. Once you beat the first dungeon it all starts to come together and feel good
