Yeah I’m pretty sure it’s just the lighting in the room but I agree he’s not a dirty blonde. Plus Alaskan Greg can easily have a receding hairline as bad as iconic does but the fact he grew it out means he can lay it forward to hide his hairline. I think wavys only criticisms debunking Alaska Greg aren’t valid so I’d say Alaska is the most compelling as the original.

I will say though that there’s something about the side by side of Iconic vs. Alaska that my gut reaction is to say that these are the same person. Can’t explain it, it just jumps out at me.

@@wavywebsurf For people with thinning hair (myself included) it can often look a lot darker when it's grown out versus when it's cropped close to the scalp. I'm not saying for sure that's what's going on here, but I don't think I can personally rule out Alaskan Greg based on an apparent difference in hair color.

The only time I read a convincing storty about him he was a homeless guy, was on the right place at the right time so he got invited to smoke at the tail end of a party with some guys, they took the picture and then never saw him again. He could be dead by now. The guys who told the story were pretty convincing with some details and stuff but I can't even find the archived thread so count this as gossip of fanfiction if you will. So I actually matched to two images of Good Guy Greg and Alaskan Greg to scale one another (a lot harder than it looks...). I think I can say without any doubt these are the same people. The spacing in the wrinkles around the eyes are identical. The length and width of the eyes are identical. His hairline is not entirely visible and the color is fairly close in my opinion. My experimentation shows they are one and the same. I can try and provide data if you'd like but it may be uninterpretable...

Hey big fan! Just wanted to say that there is no way that the GGG image only surfaced in 2011. I remembering sharing GGG, Scumbag Steve, Bachelor Frog etc since back in highschool, in fact I distinctly remember sharing GGG memes at school specifically. I graduated in 2009, so it has to be at last that old, but I'm sure it was around for a few years befor that, too.

It's hard to compare their faces 1 to 1 because there aren't any shots of iconic and alaskan Greg from the same angle. But it's pretty clear that they have different head shapes. Alaskan Greg has a heart shaped face with wider cheek bones and a narrower chin. Iconic Greg has an oval or potato shaped head with a square chin that protrudes forward a bit, even when he's smirking.
