The unbelievable range in his voice, like no other, made him one of the greatest lead singer's of all time! His time with Journey created so many great songs and I frequently listen and sing along to them when I'm doing yard work.

I believe I might be related to him, this is just my thoughts because my grandmothers last name was Quaresma before she got married, just like Steve Perry's mother, my grandmother was from Portugal also and she lived in the same area as Steve Perry did near Santa Rosa.. My grandmother moved to Sacramento with my grandfather in the 1920s...

Nope pure Azorean Portuguese, 9 tiny volcanic islands west of Portugal about 1/3 of the way across the Atlantic Ocean. Father's original name Pereira. Funny thing, the great guitarist Joe Perry, real name Joseph Anthony Pereira, his family emigrated to Massachusetts from the same place. Of course, that name may be like Smith or Jones there.
