I have a Saint Benedict medal that I was able to get blessed by Bishop Athanasius Scheinder when he visited my city to do a retreat at a retreat center & then a special holy hour at the local Newman center. Before the end of the evening, which included a question and answer session in the Newman Center basement, I asked him if he would bless my St Benedict medal and he did.

I have a door hanger as well, but its on my front door on the inside. It has a Benedict medal, crucifix and miraculous medal. Got it blessed last year by my tlm priest, after I was anointed the day before foot surgery.

I grew up going to Catechism and had my 1st communion, but was never confirmed. I believe I can go to confession, but I’m sure I can’t receive the Eucharist. I’m not really sure how to proceed. I recently purchased a rosary, and I had it blessed. I found out that it contains a St Benedict medal, and had further blessings bestowed upon it. I pray the rosary, and I feel as though it helps me. Am I wrong to do so since I don’t go to church or participate in the sacraments? Forgive me if my terminology is incorrect. I’m 56 now, and it’s been a very long time since I stopped going to church.

It's all in the word's of the prayers on it, and on the symbols on it, or rather the recollection of the incidents and aspects in Father Benedict's life, and the faith and devotion they inspire. It's not magic, it's an earnest prayer to God.

OK, this is a lovely, but I don't understand why you didn't go into explaining the symbols on the metal I get the background of Saint Benedict is great to know but the symbols on the metal what do they mean? Why is that cross so special? What are the they're probably in Latin but what are the words to the prayer that's on the back and what does the English translation all that stuff I've been wondering for a long time so I guess I'll have to go look it up somewhere else but I'm just surprised you didn't tell us just thought I'd give you that feedbackwith love not with ridicule

There is something rather odd , about each presenter, as if they a=were trained and taught to make use t=of there hands they same way as there leader......Monks I wish you would let each presenter , imitate no one else ACCEPT Jesus! OF COURSE, one presenter looks similar to all the others , let each monk be free to use or not use his hands and let each monk use his voice and rhythm ....because I find it kinda creepy and un-natural, and synthetic , not genuine from the heart. Hello Stephen. That is an interesting observation that you make. How do you feel that you can interpret the gestures of another, as to whether they are sincere, or trained and taught? Surely you have your own natural gestures and hand movements when you speak or explain something. So do others. We are praying for you.
