Ferula Trueba is one of the most rich and complex characters. How many lesbian women were condemned to a life like Ferula’s?

I first watched this movie when I was maybe 10 years of age. It came out the same year of my birth which I find ironic. It became my favorite movie, such an odd movie for such a young child but I was captivated by it. I later found out one of our ancestors was from Chile. And weirdly, spontaneously and ironically I moved to Chile and lived there for 3 years. I have a Past life connection to Chile most definitely….. I finally read the book around 2014 but the end of the booked dragged on so I much prefer the movie. If they tried to make the movie to closely represent the book I feel viewers would have become lost in the length, it would be a 5 hour movie or 2 parts. The war part in the end of the book was very long. I definitely prefer the movie over the book and I don’t say this often.

Interesting, I actually haven't watched the movie yet. Thanks for the reminder. :D But I can see how the novel dragged on, it also took me a while to finish it, but I still loved it.
