An additional advantage to eating more slowly is that chewing your food more thoroughly produces more saliva digestive enzymes, thus enabling better digestion.

Yess, this is so important, I learned it on my own skin. Sometimes, when I have a super busy day and maybe not have time to eat enough at lunch, I come home super hungry for dinner. I hate when this happens because many times that dinner turns into a literal binge. Like, eating way past comfort and realizing I overdid it only after. Well, a while ago while I was binging on cereals after dinner, my parents called me. I answered, we talked for 15 minutes and then when I went back to finish the cereal, I realized I don’t want them anymore. But if they didn’t call me then, I would have surely finished the box So since then, I call them when I notice I start to fall into a binge and it’s been a game changer. I finally give my body the time to process that it had enough food

I've been subbed for only a couple of weeks now, but I love your teaching method. Going through your library of videos, I hope to find more like this one and of course, the workout variations. Now if only I could find the foods rich in leptin that may help in feeling full, all the while being nutrient dense for my body. I'm getting there. Thanks again doc!

This is the most underrated life hack for limiting daily caloric intake. Arguably more effective than nutrition, and infinitely less costly, because it’s free. Another similar trick is to meal prep with smaller portions, but that requires more time and effort.

That doesn’t explain why hunger comes in waves. If you push through the hunger without eating, the hunger goes away. And if you push through 3 days of fasting, hunger just disappears altogether. Many who do long-term fasting have to remind themselves on the calendar to resume eating after a week.

I sleep from 10 pm to 8 am and its looking good. Everything feels in place and slowly im burning off the fat and grinding and building muscle. Looking forward what the results are over 4 months from now.

I never fasted in my 20s or went to gym and was super fit. I had at least 50 grams of protein a meal and I ate each meal slowly over an hour. I had two snacks and they were fruit on my blood type. I was mostly blood type peskatarian with some diary and egg whites. I seldom drank water because I had veggies every meal and ate enough to stay hydrated. I did hit but only for 2 miles almost 5 days a week. I only did body weight resistant movements and stretched and I went dancing once a week. I seldom ever ate sugar. As soon as I stopped doing all this I put on the weight fast as hell. I am back to doing the same and have lost a decent amount of weight and currently doing body recomp eating 100 under my calories maintenance several days a week. I lost a lot of muscle doing water fast and veggie fruit fast. The only fast I will do is a dry fast or a water fast for two days only every few months.

While I didn't learn anything new from this, other than the more sophisticated medical explanation, what did give me pause was your comment on fasting. Hey, I that was good I wanted it to be longer! Like explain how you can run a 500 calorie deficit but in 7-10 days when the weight loss slows due to less Leptin hitting your hypothalamus you need to eat your total daily calorie expenditure by consuming more carbohydrates. This allows the Leptin to flow again and you can go back to your deficit and weight loss for another 7-10 days.

ok technical question: You talked about leptin supplemennts and explained why it doesn't work... Is it symetrical ?!!!! I mean I read ghrelin supplement exists and some people take it because it is supposed to increase GH (growth hormon). Why ? The explaination I gave myself is that intermitent fasting is known to increase growth hormon or in general the lower your blood stream level, the higer the growth hormon which is consistent with ghrelin increase...

@4urajeshkumar
@4urajeshkumar 2 жыл бұрын
Very rightly said.. And I totally agree with you.. Long term sustainability is the key. You must enjoy the journey more than your goals. You we enjoy the journey only when you believe in living and enjoying the moment i.e. don't waste time and make most out of the moment. What's the point of having six pack abs after torturing yourself for 6 months from harsh diet that doesn't taste good and you feel like trash. That six pack abs will only last for a moment. You can lose 6 pack abs in a matter of couple of hours/days depending upon your genetics and your diet. Get 6 pack abs after a year or so by making smart eating choices for long term sustainability and by enjoying the journey for your goal of achieving 6 pack abs. However if you still don't feel good after achieving 6 pack abs then your body is not meant to have very low fat %. I don't feel good at all at sub 10% body fat. For most people abs are only visible after achieving sub 10% bodyfat.

I'm also 53 and in the middle of menopause so got a little fupa even though my abs are super strong? Upper abs show but fupa won't go away. I eat fairly healthy grilled meats, veggies, tons of walnuts/almonds and I occasionally have a homemade flaxseed, coconut flour, cookies. I also love carbs potatoes sweet or regular. Cant have much sugars cause they have always made me feel sick. I'm learning about calories now because I've always been on the thin side so never had to count calories.
