Both of my older brothers went to the Naval Academy and graduated. Both of them have said the Naval Academy taught them how not to treat the men and woman under their command. So to hear you say this was fascinating.

I went to USNA, there is definitely bs that exists. But some of these things are not necessarily a USNA thing. They’re a military thing. “Perception is reality” is preached. BS, you’re telling me if I perceive there’s no ledge at the end of the cliff, I won’t fall off? Nature is reality, not human constructs. Just things like that, they painted a picture of flaws the military organization believes.

It’s the non military industrial complex engineering work and scientific mindset that really shaped me for the best. USNA had its goods/bad, but science/engineering and true practitioners of it really impacted my life more than anything else, to include USNA.

When I was an Army O3 I was so lucky to have an O4 who I could go to any time to run through what was happening and he gave me great guidance. I might not see him for a couple week then suddenly the next week I was in his office 3 times in a week. He always had time for me and it saved me.

Personal authority vs Positional authority. Leading with Positional authority should be used as a last resort. Great advice fellas. Keep it up!

Wow. I would've never thought in a million years the actual Naval Academy would skip the leadership portion of the syllabus. Is this the same for West Point?

Hmm. He Fired. 2 people. And what does that do to a person confidence Maybe they turn out to be lousy people
@azules97806 ай бұрын
If he fired them, they definitely weren't cutting it. He seems like a dude that is going to give you several opportunities to fix it unless you're FUBAR.
