I was a DI in the Army in 67-69 and our cadence could get pretty raunchy, but the AIT students loved it. Only males then as the females were WACs. MP School, Ft Gordon Ga.

I did Army infantry basic training. Navy won't be as difficult but just remember that it's all psychological. No matter what and I mean no matter what, do NOT let the drill sergeants get into your head. Make a box in your mind that is a picture of you not giving up and don't let anyone in there and don't ever change what's in the box. It's easy to say on the internet and it's easy to say right now in your mind but there will come a time in basic where quitting might seem like a good idea and you might forget this but don't. Just set out to do it and don't accept failing or quitting no matter what

We were graduating in like 3 days and were marching behind a div that just got there, we started doing "Steamroller" and freaked them out and got them out of step. Their RDC yelled at them to stop and just move to the side. As we were marching past their RDC was screaming at them, "YOU JUST LET A GRADUATING DIVISION STEAMROLL US!!!" We all had big ass grins on our faces.

If you compare the american songs where it sometimes is funny from ther german side the songs on the other hand are all about war and sometimes even with frases like (translated from german in the song green devils) „with hurray towards death, the opponent surrenders and piles up“ its a huge difference 😂😂😂

My army drill sergeant always said calling cadence was for the Navy and Air force. I remember we barely sing cadence at all. It was left left right. When someone would ask why we didn't sing cadence he said "if you wanted to sing on a bed of flowers you should have joined the air force or navy". Then he proceeded to say " we don't do that stomping shit or clapping shit because its dumb as shit". Then when I got to Ft. Bliss TX I saw my drill sergeant and I was like I'm hiding. 😂

@@tonyburton5273 It isnt about fighting especially when we aren’t at war currently. Some people want careers outside of the military and believe it is the place to continue them. Some people wanted to be a marine, like myself, but decided to join the Navy to pursue a field of their choice. In addition, the Navy has plenty of combat jobs just like the other branches.

@@mullarky2288 🤣🤣 I got four MOS during my 6 years in the army there are plenty of opportunity for civilian line for jobs. For example I have a 21J & 21E mos. Vertical and horizontal equipment operator and operating cranes as a civilian I'm capable of getting up to 300 bucks an hour. Deep down inside you know you couldn't handle it in the Marines or the army and that's why you went Navy but good try.
