The Nuggets starting five are like the NBA's rejects. The Lakers let KCP go. Magic let Gordon go plus he got robbed in that dunk contest. MPJ was supposed to be a #1 pick but dropped to 14th after Clippers doctors said he would never play and several teams passed on him. Murray is a beast in clutch time and of course, in the playoffs but may never be an All-Star. And then there's the Joker. The super second-round pick was criticized and scrutinized, judged harshly by people that never even seen him play a full game until he won it all, and then everyone finally saw what Nuggets fans have known for years. They each won individually in the lower levels of basketball, but to win in the NBA they must join together to form the unstoppable robotic juggernaut force known as... Nuggetron! Joker is the head. Murray and MPJ are the arms. KCP and Gordon are the legs

I’ve been to two Nuggets games now (I live fairly close to Denver) and not only was Jokić playing both games, which can’t be said for most other stars, he consistently was trying to win. He always plays to win, and that’s remarkable I think because of how many players nowadays just coast or let the loss come to them. He’s my favorite player of all time, and it’s crazy because now whenever he has an “off” night, I expect more from him even though it’s still a solid stat line for almost everyone else in the league. I’m glad to see more people are realizing how solid his defense is, and he is 100% a deterrent in the paint. He doesn’t go for crazy blocks, but he has insanely quick hands and it seems like players now instinctively back down from making some weird moves or passes around the rim now because he’s there and able to read the play.

Joker also doesn't rely on physical athleticism as much as good decision making, precise passing, and shooting. Those are skills you can use well into your 30's so he's going to be a top player for 10 more years. It is a strange pet peeve of mine, and it's not like it's a huge deal, but I've been listening to people from the media for years now constantly mispronouncing the Nik*O*la part and it's driving me crazy. Firstly, to a Serb, it just sounds kind of weird and wrong phonetically, but more importantly - I'm upset due to the fact that these people couldn't learn (or change) the way they pronounce his name, and the guy is literally an animal and, hands down - a basketball god. Like, that's the least you can do. One could even argue it's slightly disrespectful. Anyway, long-time sub here, I love you content, keep it up! Regards from Serbia

Jokic reminds us that basketball IQ is the best skill in offense and defense. When the game slows down, it really boils down to two questions: 1. do you have a solution for them? 2. do they have a solution for you? This is where Jokic shows his real quality.

His defense has been so underrated because people always think block is the only way to defend. Jokic disrupts offense by clean taps.

4:35 was that an alley-oop from an inbound pass from half court? I wonder who holds the record for most assists from an inbound pass? Is that even tracked at all?

Magic still the best passer. But I will put Jokic 2nd. Never thought I would be putting a center in the best passer list. Bill Walton would be there if he wasn't injured all the time.

There's something about Jokic that reminds me of Tim Duncan. He's much better on O and not as good on D, and not as athletic, but he's got that grace and skill and economy of movement. And his look of sort of detachment.

The one lacking physical attribute is explosiveness, and for that reason he's treated like he's some unathletic ogre. No, he'll never blow by anyone or explode of the bounce for a monster lob, but aside from that he has all the physical tools you could reasonably ask for. He's big and has a huge frame, with all the power and strength that comes from that. He has good length and wingspan, which helps in so many ways. He's mobile and has elite endurance, which more than makes up for his lack of explosiveness when it comes to versatility, and last of all, he has legit outlier body control regardless of position. These physical tools are why he can grab 15 rebounds at will despite not being able to out jump the majority of other bigs, or why his defensive numbers are consistently elite. People don't realize there's FAR more to defense than rim protection and on-ball perimeter defense, and Jokic is elite at pretty much all of it. Oh, and his rim protection isn't even that bad, probably because fans underestimate his wingspan, it's just not elite. These are the physical tools Jokic is working with, which for his size is a pretty solid bag. Combined with his mind it's enough for an all-time peak, but he's not Professor X out there in a wheelchair

Every time he is a bit tired he passes and when hes not he scores, the problem is he changes tempo for every game. Go time Jokics pace and you got a shot and its impossible... he is tunning his tempo the way he enjoy... sounds simple but its not ...

I can compare Jokic to somebody and that's Stockton. Yes, yes i get it Stockton isn't a big man but hear me out dude was hard to play at and everyone acknowledged it like how do you even defend someone who has alot of ways to score? Jokic is like if you make Stockton taller like dude his passing phenomenal and that reach like bruhhhh and since he's big how do you even stop that? It's not a perfect comparison but that's the best one i can think of for now since the dude is like a whole new breed of CAPTAIN.

In that best playoff records since 1985 chart, where are the 2001 Lakers? They went 15-1 that year, swept everyone and then lost game 1 of the finals to Philadelphia before winning 4 straight.

Looks like you sorted it by games played instead of by win %. That's not technically then a list of the best playoff records (in order), in fact the more games you play in the playoffs the less good your record will tend to be. Click the W% column it will rank the list by win-loss percentage and give you a more accurate ranking of best playoff records.

Before the Nuggets championship, this team had been doing good for years and wondered when they were going to cross the line and be true contenders. They did last year, became champs. I still call them my favorites to win it all this year. There are teams right now with better records, but the Nuggets are championship tested and proven. I'll take them over anyone else right now.

Jokic doesn't force plays, he is just efficient, not flashy. Even his flashy passes have a reason. He doesn't dunk, even though he can do it easily, he doesn't run faster than he needs. He's just efficient. NBA players have a lot to learn from him
