Chapter 1 - The Union of Shiva and Shakti
Jnaneshvar (1271-1296 CE) was a revolutionary, a pioneer in the expression of mystical truths in the Marathi language. Prior to him, all such literature had been framed in the classical Sanskrit; and Marathi, the popular language of Maharashtra, had been regarded as unfit for the transmission of sacred knowledge. Jnaneshvar changed all that. And today, the people of Maharashtra honor Jnaneshvar as their greatest poet-saint; millions visit his tomb at Alandi each year, and his songs are still sung daily in temples throughout the land.

No words can fulfill the "Experience" observed by listening this Heart melting ( rather say "opening") discourse !! Saint Dnyaneshwar delivered his experience after writing easy translation of Bhagwatgeeta. O Lord, you are Great, beyond imagination, boundaries, words and JUST. Long live Jayasara and long live your light of awareness for many to awaken their Hearts 🙏💐

When first I heard of these ‘tales’ of Shiva and Shakti, ‘that bell’ sounded loud and clear, like an undying and loving wisdom had spoken. This is a splendid review of the deep joys of this mystery.💐

All new to me, a lot is being said in this metaphor. I think it must be a very poetic description of unity of the body and mind.. ( or non-duality?) So much here, it must take a lot of time in study.

Awesome. I remember reading a book of Santideva's teachings which I picked up randomly at the library. This wass years before I had any sincere interest in Buddhism but I still remember many quotes from that book which really made an impression on me. For example "I do not desire suffering. And yet, fool that I am, I desire the seeds of suffering". Quotes like that actually changed my life in my mid to late 20s

Hi Matt, I'm no expert on Advaita (I know more Buddhist texts) - this text was suggested and requested to me by a listener and I just downloaded a PDF copy and it was lovely to read so I recorded the first chapter. I mainly read teachings by Ramana Maharshi and Nisargardatta who are considered to be in the Advaita genre. Hope that helps :)

@@SamaneriJayasara yup, thanks. I just see you reading texts from dzogchen (I'm certainly spelling that wrong) and other people I know nothing of so I thought maybe you may be a source of the same in regards to Vedantic texts. I like all sorts of spiritual teachings but advaita vedanta is the only thing I can work upon. I'm very very of that type of thinking. Other stuff when talking about gods, energy, mudras, mantras and such can in practice confuse me with too much diversity, causing me to have all kinds of insurmountable questions. Although I am able to appreciate the perspective.

If you want spiritual entertainment then read countless scriptures ..if you are really serious then read books like Talks with Sri Ramana Maharshi , I am that etc..Good luck

Hi again Matt, just thought to mention that you could also listen to some of the other Vendanta texts I have recorded on this You Tube channel that might deepen your practice and understanding. These include: The Avadhuta Gita, Yoga Vasistha, The Upanishads, Vivekachudamani, Atma Satshatkara, Upadesa Saram....

Samaneri Jayasara What is atma satshakara? I haven’t found that anywhere. I’m familiar with nearly everything written by Ramana Maharshi and those associated however I didn’t know he had a work under the name Atma Satshakara which translates into “Self Realization”. I’ll look into Yoga Vasistha thanks. I’m familiar with all the others, sometimes it’s beneficial to hear things explained from another perspective, at a different depth, etc.
