I LOVE THIS SONG SMM… Also, I feel like this song has such a beautiful yet hidden meaning (I sound stupid😭) I love this song for a couple reasons, the first one being how the lyrics mean something. “Make me feel like I am breathing, feel like I am human.” It shows there could be a feeling of unhumanity and only one person can make them feel whole. My best friend just killed himself today, and before he did he told me his favorite songs. This song he talked about. I’ll always be reminded by him nvm the lyrics.He’s the one person I never lied to, been completely honest about my character. I’d love to help him, but he suffered so much. I wish I could’ve heard his voice one more time, or talk to him, carrying on about how he’s a pedo because all of his friends are younger. To the prettiest, best person I’ve ever talked to, to the person who chose to tell me everything he’s gone through. I love you Casper.

"The little death" means "la petite mort" in French, which actually means "the small death". It's an euphemism for orgasm. They call it a little death because of the unconscious state that some people have after having orgasms. Mostly, people are referring to the spiritual release that comes with an orgasm or to a short period of melancholy or transcendence as a result of the "life force", the feeling which is caused by the release of oxytocin in the brain after the occurrence of orgasms. "The little death" doesn't always have to do with sex or orgasms though. Literary critic Roland Barthes spoke of "la petite mort" as the chief objective of reading literature. He metaphorically used the concept to describe the feeling one should get when experiencing great literature. The term "la petite mort" or "the small death" does not always apply to sexual experiences. It can also be used when some undesired thing happens to a person and has affected them so much that "a part of them dies inside". An example of this is found in Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles, when he uses the phrase to describe how Tess feels after she comes across a gruesome meeting with her rapist: "She felt the petite mort at this unexpectedly gruesome information, and left the solitary man behind her." I used to study sex in school, and we learned all sorts of things about the orgasm.
