I just thought I'd take this moment to thank you for uploading such amazing content. I used your videos to aid in studying for my board exam for nursing and went into it with confidence. You teach in a way that is so simple on such complex topics. I had a very hard time understanding concepts in lectures and text during school, but you wrapped it up nicely. You have a real gift for teaching. I hope to see more of your videos in the future :)

Professor thank you for this video. I have two questions based on this video 1. What is the difference between the terms dendron and dendrites? 2. Is the term, terminal buds synonymous to synaptic knobs?

Exercise causes individual muscle cells to become thicker & stronger ("hypertrophy"). Conversely, lack of exercise causes the muscles cells to become thinner & weaker ("atrophy"). Exercise does NOT increase the number of muscle cells.

Imagine you have one muscle cell or fiber and you decided to workout it,for example before workout that muscle fiber it has a 5mm diameter but after a year of workouts it become 10mm in diameter(but you still have only one muscle fiber, but in different size)that means that muscle fibers grown 5mm after a year but it stills one fiber.Remember this process happens to bundle of muscle fibers not only one!

Sir, is it really correct to say that a nerve cell, nerve fibre and neuron are the same thing? Isn't a nerve fibre the axon which is merely a part of a neuron. Like calling the cats tail a cat, but it's merely the tail of the cat. Honestly asking because my teacher scolded me for conflating them today.

"nerve fiber" could refer to an axon OR a dendrite or to the entire neuron. For example: the "nerve fibers" of the pyramidal (corticospinal) tract are axons. HOWEVER, the "nerve fibers" of the Dorsal (Posterior) White Column Tract are dendrites.
