The fact that high quality children's entertainment exists, immediately nullifies excuses for poor quality in children's entertainment.

Regarding Neverending Story 3... My grandpa went with me to the cinema when I was 9. I liked the book so my parents thought that would be appropriate. I felt so ashamed he had to endure that horrible movie with me. I was 9. And I was ashamed for the low quality of the movie. "It doesn't have to be good, it is for kids" should NEVER be an argument.

As a German myself I just love when he says "excellent German" and it sounds like "ausgescheissnetes Deutsch" which would translate to "extremely shitty German"

Why are all adaptations of my favorite book so messed up? The first movie made some changes but I still liked it. The second movie was a disappointment and the third one a horrible disaster. The cartoon is an abomination and the other TV series so terrible and poorly written that I still refuse to accept that this really exists

Iirc, in the book Bastian was the only one to call her Moon Child. The Phantasians still referred to her as Childlike Empress

The daycare at the gym my mom worked at plated the first episode of this on loop. Watching this is like learning something you thought was a strange dream you had once when you were three actually was real

I love when you speak German xD I am from Germany and tbh it's hilarious because without the subtitles I wouldn't understand what you were saying because of the pronouncation xD No insult here, german indeed is hard :D

I'll admit, this series was my first exposure to The Neverending Story. As such when I finally saw the movie I was more confused when some characters in the show died in the movie.

I remember an episode where the boy and the bark troll had to deliver water to a village suffering from a drought.

There's a cryptid/legend in Pennsylvania about a pig-like creature called the squonk that cries because it's ugly and can dissolve into a puddle of tears. I imagine this was the inspiration for the creatures in the book/episode one.

What the fuck!? I just finished reading the book TODAY, and came back to watch the Lost in Adaptation of it, then this comes out? WHAT!? Am I in a book? Should I rename the Childlike Empress?? Hilfe!?
