The triton is making the same power as a biturbo ford/ranger, but has bigger capacity at 2.4 vs 2.0. 10year warranty.... Sounds solid!

I think proper research is due before making a podcast about a new model. The engine may still be 2.4 liters but it is a new engine (4N16) compared to the previous gen (4N15). It was developed to push more power and be able to do so without the risk of kaboom(iykyk). It also may be down a bit on torque compared to the competition but at least it hits its peak torque first than the rest (1,500rpm vs 1,800rpm nearest of a competitor) so definitely would take this than any of the 500Nm club anytime.

I only purchased a Paj Sport Exceed because it was the right priceand I needed just a tug to tow a light van. I didn't care about off rod stuff and we have now down Tassie, Vic Highlands and the Blue Mountains and 1000's of kms of black stuff, it's done everything we asked and it returned great fuel economy and to be honest as some have mentioned in other vlogs that they are under powered. Well sorry but the steep Mountains of the prev trips says it certainly not. Imo. Note no off road driving so can't comment on that but some have mentioned they are quite capable as stock.

The twin turbo just improves the torque curve. Their peak torque is at 1250 rpm I think. It's to take the lag out, not increase the power

We don't have to believe everything Ronny says really, he doesn't sit in the Triton development team and like the rest of us we don't know how they come up with it all, im just happy that the Triton has evolved a bit and hopefully it'll continue to be reliable and affordable ute in the market as they have been. Kudos to more power and go the underdog Triton

FYI TJM is only for Thailand vehicles, the new Triton is only going to have Genuine Accessories. Bullbars, Canopy and Electric Roll Cover are available mid-2024 after launch.

4N15 single turbo made same Nm/lt as the 500Nm Hilux. 4N16 sequential twin turbo makes same Nm/lt as the 550Nm Hilux. Both make less per litre than the 2.0 Ranger. Pushing it harder, yes. But not really pushing the boat out in terms of stress levels. The biggest change will be the 1500-2750 claimed band for the 470Nm rather than the 2500 peak 430Nm of the single turbo. If that torque plateau is correct, there could be as much as 80-100Nm more torque in the 1500-2000rpm space than the single turbo. Sadly they put in taller 4.09:1 diffs, replacing the 4.27:1 diffs in the old Triton. So same g/box, 10% more torque (peak) but 5% taller gearing and is heavier.

Given Mitsubishi have for at least the last 8 years or so since the MQ has lead in reliability and for decades in safety with full time AWD there is every reason to think this one is a winner. Mitsubishi would not have fitted twin turbo unless the motor was strong. The 2.4 single turbo was underrated and could easily handle a decent tune. The new motor is said to be heavily modified so it will be a keeper. Cheers

Aren't the Toyota's having heaps of drama with their 2.8 engines at the moment? The D-4D's had heaps of issues up to about 2016/17 too. Think I'd have a bit more faith in a 2.4 bi-turbo than a strung out 2L bi turbo but hey I drive a 02 TD42 so anything more than about 50hp and I'm happy haha

Is bloody stupid the way they keep building these Utes higher and bigger. For those of us who actually use them on farms or as a work vehicle, having a lower tray means less effort in picking up all the stuff that day to day goes into the tray. As they get beefier and higher I assume they are pitched to men who mainly live in the city/suburbs and want to buy something that makes them feel good.

cmon boys! you guys need to do some more homework on the triton, guys. lol, you keep saying it's a ballsy move . why?? it's not just slapping on a turbo dude. this isn't a backyard mod. there has been extensive work done to the engine. also, there is no chat about its tech, its torque figures in terms of when in the rev range it makes the torque. how about the wider and longer body? anyhow, this will take a while, so I'll leave it there

Almost all the new Tritons tested by Journalists on you tube is the orange pre production one , luckily for Mitsubishi every one gives it rave reviews , I'll wait for a real independent test by real off road Journos .
