Namibia the new 2024 side of Africa the media won't show you
It is a captivating visual journey showcasing Namibia's transformation from a barren desert wasteland to a thriving mega city.
Swakopmund is a coastal desert city in Namibia, west of the capital, Windhoek. its sandy beaches face the Atlantic Ocean. established by German colonists in 1892, the city's colonial landmarks include the Swakopmund lighthouse and the mole, an old sea wall and the oldest desert in the world. This town is full of historic and innovative urban planning, the traditional German architecture.
most of these old buildings include " Altes Amtsgericht "built-in 1906.
I loved the beautiful villas and mansions in this town. A must visit in 2024

Great video, Josey. If I had seen this video without any knowledge of where it was, I might well have thought it was in, as Julian suggested, California or somewhere like that. I am truly ignorant of just how varied Africa really is. Thanks for showing that Africa is a huge continent with much diversity.👍

I’m a Namibian , please learn to differentiate between capital city and city Swakopmund and walvis bay are cities based on the Namibian local government which stats that all place’s governed by a municipality are cities while all places governed by a town council are towns Namibia has one capital which is Windhoek , but has many cities for about 12 of them …. Visit Namibian’s local government page for proof , we actually also learned about this in schools

Bad timing, you should visit Swakop around December holidays if you want to see crowds The majority of Namibians are black people, they live in the high density locations like Mondesa. The CBD gives you the wrong impression, it's not where the majority lives. But accomodation is a problem during December since most lodges are fully booked so you came at the right time.

@sithabelamandlawenkosiwodu6298 - 😂😂She said Grootfontein is Afrikaans town just because she saw an empty CBD with a few whites, yet the majority of blacks live in the locations and farms nearby. It's like that everywhere in Namibia. CBDs will be empty unless you visit the locations.

Funny how African countries with white population are more clean and organised and there's less corruption. Not sure if anyone's ever thought of that. White people have their issues but look an Swakopmund and Capetown. Clean and inviting. Compare this to Duala or Lagos.
